The Morrigan

Over the Atlantic Ocean

September 12th, year of our Lord, 1764

The Morrigan was now on the hands of one of Cormac's men. Shay can finally rest after a challenging voyage over the Atlantic waters on their way to Albany. It was the high season of troubling waters: the heat after a long garish summer and now the coming seasons of unpredictable storms. Not that Shay is unfamiliar with voyaging during one, yet those passing days were potent against the vessel. Man against nature in order to save his crew, the battle was challenging by such force not in human form.

It was the worst month over the Atlantic, hurricanes were rampant, unstoppable, and sporadic in their directions, Shay has voyaged those waters all his life, sailed his Morrigan over the worst weathers nature can fall on them, he knows his vessel's potential; no one can defeat her.

Descending towards the Main deck, Shay watches Collin Doyle, a young new recruit from Killarney, Ireland, running towards him.

"What's the rush, lad? Something the matter?"

" brón orm, a Chaptaen (I'm sorry, Captain!) But the Grandmaster needs to have a word with you."

"Must be mistaken, boy, but Grandmaster Kenway is not on board in this boat, he's in England."

"Is not him, Captain. The lady Grandmaster."

Shay smiled. "Ah! Silly of me. I'll be there, thank you, Collin."
