"I know we aren't going to end well, trust me, your an amazing person but we both know that we weren't meant to be." Was the last thing I heard him say to me, I didn't bother to listen to the rest because I already knew what he was going to say. I knew it was just another excuse, I just know. It all made sense, we were just nothing to him. It didn't matter, not at all. It was two weeks now, and still I can't forget. It was crystal clear, funny because my other thoughts were just a blur to me. Nothing made sense in my mind, I was just a broken, messed up teenager, heartbroken and dead on the inside.
I knew I shouldn't have trusted him, I was tired of all the lies.
They never will stop, will they?
I couldn't be mad at him, it was all my fault. It always was.

But in some ways, it was also the best day of my life because I got to meet my bestfriend. I'll get on to that later.

It all started on a Sunday in August when he broke up with me. I didn't tell him that same line girls always say when their hearts get broken, I wasn't like that. He knew.
I didn't scream at him, because it was my fault. It was so predictable, but why wasn't I prepared for the worst? I trusted him, when I couldn't trust others, but why weren't we meant for each other? I loved him, couldn't he realize?
I won't ever know the reason why he couldn't see how hurt I actually was.
He'll never know now.

I just nodded, understanding and ran off. Like I always did. I didnt cry, it wasn't at all like me. Everyone expected me to be like that.
There I was, my heart shattered, and thrown away at a blink of an eye.
I knew I shouldn't have turned around but I did. I turned around and saw a sad look in his eyes like he knew how hurt I was. I told myself to get a grip, and ran to the nearest coffee shop, wiping my eyes with the sleeve of my shirt. I wasn't being careful and clumsily bumped into a tall guy, with ocean blue eyes, and sandy blond hair thrown up into a quiff. He took a glance at me and smiled. I wasn't in a good mood so I didn't return a smile back.
"I-im s-so sorry." I stutter embarrassedly, not looking at him. I noticed he was wearing a Blink-182 tank top, with matching skinny jeans. I couldn't look straight at him because he towered over me. I was like a ruler compared to him.
My cheeks flushed a crimson red, I could tell he noticed.
I turned away, so I wasn't facing directly at him.
He touches my shoulder and rubs it, reassuring me that's its okay, I flinch at his touch. He pushes his arm away seeing my reaction.
"Hey, it's okay, calm down." He says with a worried half-smile.
He had the gentlest look in his eyes as I glance up, his eyes met mine.
His eyes instantly calm me down, it was like magic.
"Just breathe." I reminded myself, not as easy as I expected.
He opens the door for me, and offered to buy me a coffee.
I shake my head no, but he insists.

That's how we ended up staying there for a few hours talking to each other, I felt safe when I was around him. Usually I would never open up to a stranger, but to me, he didnt feel like a stranger at all.
I wondered, wasn't it ironic that we meet on the day very exact day where my world fell apart? It was like he was meant to be there, like he actually knew what I was going through, it's like he was a savior of some sort, if that makes any sense.
Maybe it's the way he knows how to say the right thing at the right time, or how he would always listen to me. He is kinda like the big older brother I never had. I dont know, but something about him feels, strange but in a good way.
I must sound like an idiot right now.
We pretended that it was only me and him, stuck in this crazy game called life.
I liked it that way, I liked how we pretended it was just us.

He always had this goofy wide grin plastered onto his face, and his dazzling blue eyes were always the first thing I noticed about him. Its only been a couple hours and I felt as if I knew him forever. Yes, he made it feel like that.
His smile was bright enough to shine a whole stage, and his eyes were a fierce blue that always made me gaze into them, mysteriously. He would always chuckle when he noticed me staring at him, his eyes made me think of ocean waves dancing with the breeze. It comforted me, the way he looked at me when he knew something was wrong, he was smarter than you might've thought.

He asked me, "What's your name?" and I would answer always answer in a quiet voice, "Skylar, but you can call me Skye." His vivid blue eyes lit up, and his familiar smile was on his face once again.
"I'm Luke, Luke Hemmings, and what's a beautiful girl like you doing all alone in the streets of Sydney, Australia?"
I blushed uncontrollably at his comment, which made him chuckle and bore into my eyes. I leaned against my hand.
I cover my face with my hands, so he wouldn't see my face.

"Oh you know, the usual." I mumble in a sarcastic tone.

"Aren't you perfection at its finest?" He teases me, as I chuckle, and shake my head.

He was patient, as I told him, I mean how couldn't I? He would've suspected it from the start, I realized that he was smart right when I laid eyes on him. He wouldn't interrupt, he would just sit there and listen, like I was the most interesting person in the world. Which of course I wasn't.

After I was done, he asked "So what's your story?"
I looked at him confused.
"I just told you, he br-" I started as he finished my sentence.
"No not that, your real story."
"Real story?"
"I want to know something about you." He says, with that cute chuckle of his. He gazes into my eyes deeply, as I feel my whole body tense up.

I look at him surprised, not expecting him say that.
A smile tugs by the corners of his lips, as if he found me amusing.

"Well there's nothing to know about me." I lie, with a grin.
He smirks.
"Is that so?" He asks, as I nod. I could see that he was thinking, thinking real hard.
"He must be up to something." I think to myself, he made it quite obvious.

"I have a plan, but you'll have to say something to me first before I tell you,"
I roll my eyes. "Say what?"
"Say that you like talking to me, because I sure as hell like talking to you."

And that was the start of a ingenious plan, that made the two of us closer to one another, literally.
