>>Welcome home, son.<<
The young adult hasn't heared this word in a long time.
Home.
What does that even mean? He remembered a house. He remembered a room. His room?
His memory was blurry.>>Wake up, son.<<
The voice was back. Why did it call him son.
Son...son...son.....no.He twitched and coughed until his eyes felt teary. Suddendly he opened his eyes and sat up. His whole body shivered and he couldn't stop ticking.
He remembered.
His hands raised upon his face, touching his own features.
He was alive? After a while he stopped coughing and his ticking wasn't that bad anymore. Only his normal ticks stayed.
>>Good boy.<<
The boy shivered, but somehow it wasn't that scary anymore. He took a deep breath and stood up.
Before that he was lying down on an old bed. The room it was in was neither big nor small. Just...livable?
In one corner was a door, probably the way to the bathroom. A window was on the wall, but it was closed.
On the other wall were a desk and a closet. Carefully the boy walked towards it, slowly looking into the reflecting surface of it. It was a mirror with a boy in it. He had messy brown hair, dark eyes and a pretty slim figure. His pants were dark and his hoodie looked a bit to big for his body.
The person in the mirror raised his hand, just like he did. And then their fingers touched. Their eyes connected and their mouths opened."Toby?"
Toby nodded. He turned to the side. A mask and some googles caught his eye. The brown haired put both of those on, feeling saver.
He sighed and decided to explore where he was. A small giggle escaped his lips as he opened the door. He stepped out and the giggle turned louder. Toby closed the door and waited a second before turning around. He started laughing hysterically as looked down the long corridor.
His feed began walking and his body felt like he was about to fall apart. Everything was spinning, he grinned and chuckled. Toby started dancing, his arms wide open. He spun around feeling like a prince in the middle of a ball. But he didn't need a princess. He just laughed and moved forward his arms going up and down, making little jumps.
He heared a small melody. His brown hair tickled his nose as it went up and down just like the move of his body. Toby closed his eyes, dancing faster and laughing more honest and real. He felt good, until he felt nothing. Not even the ground underneath his feet. The boy broke down. He slipped on the ground, that was back again. His eyes were closed as he tried to stop falling. Eventually his body stopped rolling and he opened his eyes again. His body started ticking stronger.
Toby groaned as he sat up. He looked up at the stairs he had fallen down. He giggled, twitched and started crying. He stood up, still following the light. The tears made his cheeks wet, but Toby didn't care.He staggered forward. He got closer to the light. The boy also started to hear noises. Like something was clicking or snaping. He coughed again and wiped away his tears.
Toby smiled. The light got brighter. It was flickering. Not like a candle, more like a broken light.
On both sides of the corridor were doors. He wasn't fast, so he could observe everything. At least he tried to. His condition made it hard for him to focus.
Toby had lost his feeling of time, he didn't know for how long he tried to reach the light. But he continued walking. Almost fighting. He had a feeling, that he did this his whole life. Just fight for something. Walking, but never arriveing.
After a while he recognized a big door frame. The light seemed to come from there. Toby walked a bit faster. And finally he reached it. It was a big screen. A TV. In front of it was a big couch with a small boy on it. He had yellow hair and wore something like a costume. It was green and looked uncomfortable, as Toby thought. He twitched.
The boy on the couch seemed to be playing a game."Hey Jeff. Heared you falling down the stairs. Hopefully you fell on your knife. EJ must be awake, like everybody else, because of you. Can't you laugh quiet?"
He was really focused, but he seemed amused. Toby didn't understand what he talking about. He ticked and coughed.
"What? Are you going to keep standing there, like a psychopa-
..Jeff?"The blonde boy looked at Toby for a second, realizing that he wasn't Jeff.
He looked back at his screen and paused it."Who the fuck are you?"
He looked back at Toby. Now he could see his eyes. They were black and red. And somehow they seemed to bleed out.
"Youu-u have ni-ice ey-y-yes."
Tobys voice sounded raspy. He ticked again.
The boy in front of him slowly raised his hand to his eyes, but let it fall quickly."Who are you?"
He repeated and stared at him. Toby thought he looked life an elf. And also he looked pretty young. Younger than him. But still not really like a child.
Toby decided to answer. It would make things easier to say his new name. He loved his old name, but ever since he was called his other name, Toby would accept it as his new one."Ticc-c-c--c--ci Toby"
He hated how he couldn't even say his name. He ticked again. Toby scratched the skin from his nails, fighting his feelings.
The boy looked him up and down. But then he smiled.
"Nice to meet you Toby."
Toby flinched. He was so nice to him?
The boy went back to playing his games."Come on, sit down. You like video games?"
"Mhm"
Toby nodded and carefully sat down on the couch, staring at the big screen. It was truely mesmerising. The boys in his all school used to talk about those video games a lot. Toby never got to play them. But now he understood why everybody liked it so much.
"I asume you were the one laughing. Just try not being so loud the next time, the others need their sleep and I don't need them around."
He grinned. Toby thought about who the others were. He asked himself who lived here and also what the voice in his head was.
Right now they were in some kind of living room. Their were big book shelves, the couch and the big TV. One door was missing, it was the one Toby came in. An other door was on the opposite. It was closed and looked heavy. There was no window, only a few armchairs."Wh-o ar-rre you?"
Toby asked. He ticked and tilted his head to the side. He knew he had big eyes, so he used those to stare at the other.
"Call me BEN!"
Toby nooded and grinned. BEN was really good at was he was doing. He seemed to be a Pro. Or at least that's what the boys from his middle school used to call people that were good aat those games.
"You wanna play?"
The brown haired flichned again. He stared down at the controller that BEN held up to him. His heart was beating fast as he touched the black plastic of it. He took a deep breath and started grinning like he never did before.
"Yea-a!"
BEN chuckled and started a new game.
"Good luck Toby."
