it was late august, and you had just started your 2nd year of high school with your childhood best friend, Sugawara Koshi. you and Suga's parents had met during high school, and ended up buying houses in the same neighborhood. Sugawara had always been there for you, and you for him. he'd been there when your heart was broken the first time, when you went on vacations, and when you were going off the edge. and thats what made you fall for him. but he doesnt know.

you wake up to your phone ringing consistently. you turn on your bedside lamp, look at your phone and see that Suga's calling you. at 5:25 in the morning. frowning, you answer the phone.

"Suga?" you say, knowing he can hear the sleep in your voice.

"morning y/n! were you really still asleep?" he asks, and you can tell he's picking on you.

"Suga, why would i be awake at 5:25?" you roll your eyes with a smile, knowing that your best friend is a early bird as always.

"hey, it's not my fault you sleep until 6:00!" he laughs, and you do too, being fully awake now. you crawl out of bed, and head to your closet, picking out clothes for the day while listening to Suga ramble on about volleyball.

"wait, where are you?" you ask, interrupting him.
you can practically hear his smile through the phone when he answers you.
"look outside your window," he says.

"w-wait what? let me put clothes on-!!" you stammer, blushing red. you put your phone down, searching through your closet until you find your favorite outfit and practically throw it on. you pick your phone up and start walking towards your shoes for the day when you trip and fall. your phone goes across the room, and you end up hitting your head on your dresser.

"Y/n?! Y/n are you okay?!?" you hear Suga yelling your name through the screen, but you can't focus your eyesight yet. you lie down on the ground and close your eyes, and answer Sugawara.

"Y-yeah.. I'm fine, just hit my hea- OW!" you yelp as you touch your head, immediately feeling the pain of the impact.

"Y/n stay awake, I'm going to come inside okay?" you mutter a yes and he hangs up. in less then two minutes he's upstairs in your bedroom, helping you get up. and you can't help it.

you laugh. not because its really funny, but because you weren't expecting to fall. you laugh even harder, blurring your vision with tears.

"Y/n? what's so funny?" Suga asks, and you can hear the concern in your closet and oldest friends voice.

"I-I.. I fell-!" you say, wiping tears from your eyes. Suga chuckles and you grin.

"Yeah, you did, and you hit your head pretty hard. i think we should stay here for the day."

you nod, and wince in pain.

"sounds like a perfect day!" you say giggling when Sugawara picks you up bridal style and carries you to your bed.

eventually you fall asleep during a movie. Suga tucks you in, turning off the movie and lays next to you, trying not to wake you up. he kisses your forehead, and wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you close.

"i love you, y/n."
