Caden hadn't left his room since Elena had confronted him. He didn't even change his clothes from the previous night. He felt like the worse person in the world and everything Elena had said to him last night he had deserved. He hadn't heard her come back home so he assumed she went to Bonnie's.

His phone had been ringing and Stefan's name popped up every now and then but he ignored it, not wanting to talk to him. He felt like he didn't deserve to talk to him.

Half an hour later there was a knock on his bedroom door and he didn't respond, hoping either Jeremy or Jenna would go away.

Instead the door opened and he sighed, "I - I'm not feeling the best." He said, hoping that would send them away.

"I need to talk to you."

That wasn't Jeremy or Jenna. Cade turned from looking out the window and towards Stefan. "What are you doing here?" He asked without a hint of a smile on his face.

"I, um, have you seen Elena today?"

At the mention of her name, Caden turned back around and shook his head. "No."

Stefan sighed and ran his hands through his hair. "She came over to my place last night... she was really upset." He started. "She told me... about you and Matt."

Caden clenched his fists. "Did you come here to have a go at me? Because I can guarantee you won't say anything I haven't already said to myself."

"I'm not here to have a go at you." Stefan said quickly. "S - She started getting angry. Really angry and started accusing me of cheating on her with you. Then she saw this picture and took off. I haven't been in touch with her since. I'm worried."

That was a lot to take in. "Sorry I dragged you into this drama." He looked down. "Elena shouldn't be mad at you. There's nothing between us." He cleared his throat after he said it.

Stefan didn't say anything back.

Caden looked at him over his shoulder. "Right?"

Instead of answering, Stefan grabbed his phone that was in his pocket. "I should try calling her again." He clicked her contact and let it ring. Caden watched as his eyebrows suddenly furrowed and he looked angry. "Where is she? Why do you have her phone? Is she okay? Where are you? Let me speak to her."

Stefan paused, as if waiting for Elena to be put on the phone.

"Damon, I swear to God, if you touch her..." He was hung up on and shoved his phone back in his pocket in frustration. "Why would she go off with Damon?"

"She's not thinking. She's hurt." Caden sighed. "What did you say about a picture?"

Stefan frowned, once again putting his hands in his pocket and pulling out a photo. He walked over to Cade and handed over the photo.
