"riku, is this true?"

...

".. is that really nanase?" gaku glanced towards the slightly trembling boy.

"just what was that conversation about ..." tenn bit his lip with confusion, "gaku, ryuu ... do you mind if we go somewhere else?"

"our food though- ACK" ryuu nudged gaku's hip, the throbbing pain rung in his veins.

"sure, just take your time to process it ... ah, of course, it might be someone other than riku!"

tables clattered, the silverware dropped onto the ground and the group made their way out.

their actions from now had left an impression on the returning waiter, his mouth gaped with confusion.

"all of that hassle, just for them to leave?!" kanae's internal screech left his ears ringing for a few seconds, "gosh, what does riku even see hope in those people ... i can't imagine how his bandmates are like."

{ TIMESKIP - ROAD ONTO HELL }

they walked in silence, each with a contorted expression on their faces.

"uhm, so ..." the eldest stopped in his tracks, "i've been thinking, do you think we should confront riku-kun about this?"

"obviously, i want to know for myself."

eat or die, eat up their pride or die in faith of their pride. it's rather a heafty subject, especially when you have expectations put upon you.

it is true, supposedly, that nobody finds it exactly exhilarating. whether it's literally or not, who knows what would happen to your beliefs if they suddenly get put aside.

"HOLY SHIT!"     CRASH.

a bloodied male, one even more angelic than TRIGGER's center. yet, the boy that rammed into them was none other but nanase riku.

bullets plunged into the child's chest, defending his brother.

the feeling in his limbs gave way and fell into tenn's arms, soothed by its warmth that he sighed into the tight embrace.

". . ." his eyes wavered with shock, "riku?"

"pretend as if this hadn't happened ... hah, tenn-nii ... remember this though, watch out for /< \_/ -"

irrationally, the frail male found the thought of his brother holding him faintly pleasurable. Or rather, he felt at ease from the regrets from the five years they were separated.

puckering of ugly wrinkles spread wide on the bleeding younger brother's mouth as his eyes exploded, the metallic liquid splattering everywhere.

what we might call the "weight of blood" or "ignorance is bliss" could never answer this occurrence, the three pass out instantaneously.

— NANASE RIKU

slender arms wrap around my shoulders, a head rested on my shoulder.

"we find it normal, we drink tea while knowing that people suffer at the very same time, how there's always a person dying from many causes."

my sweat runs shivers down my throat, this fucking hallucination ever since the incident ...

"human life is truly filled with serene deceptions and insincerity, one lies to the other and is accepted as if the world wouldn't condemn them."

what frightened me the most was how i could easily escape death if fate allows it, if the means were through malicious intents.

of course there will be degrees to how far it can twist the world's basic fundamentals but how long would i survive under this thing.

"you've realised who i'm meant to look like already, haven't you?" defined nails claw into my neck, it wasn't much pressure and it still bled.

i portrayed myself as a failure, someone alienated. the fleeting, casual cruelties of life show on the surface, the wounds seep deeper and deeper into my heart unknowingly.

"i'm the reflection of your 'tenn-nii', aren't i? how perfect, a way to torment you. you know, as long as i exist, no one will ever save you." its teeth bared into a horrendous smirk, nothing to do with beauty standards or what not.

it was full of ... full of fucking malevolence.

"was it necessary to make them pass out in order to erase their memories? and what's up with those people trying to kill me?" empty eyes looked at the gold dust and the black mist contrasting each other around me, a mindscape of sorts.

"yes. imagine if they remember that, they'd ruin 'fate' even more for you. and who knows, i know nothing about it." its voice went flat at the third statement.

"is my body restored? i just want to get out of here."

"no fun." the entity removed its body off of me, pouting at how i clearly did not want to speak to it, "you can go now, riku."

"..."

"he didn't even say bye..." a shadow-like version of tenn heaved with disappointment, "now then, i wonder how this'll end."

— KUJO TENN

my eyes shot wide open, i was in ryuu's house with gaku laying on the opposite couch of mine.

weren't we on the road-

a hellish, bloody silhouette stood before me.

eyes tearing crimson, anger rushing through its mouth.

not that far from where i sat, it looks down on him. it may be fake yet, i could still feel the droplets splatter on my face.

"save me..." its voice started to shake with overwhelming emotions, "please..."

it left without trace, leaving me to wonder about that sight.

what did it mean by 'save me'? who am i meant to be saving?
