Levi was trained as best as he could get to, but not before meeting the one he would be serving. Later in the day after the Coyet's victory Levi was taken to the prince's room.
After dinner Atli was set for what King Coyet called "kiddy training," a way to train the kids at a young age with toys. His brother, the previous heir, Lionel was teaching him. King Coyet took Levi to them, which happened to be the office.
"Lionel! Today your job is done." The king stated.
"But it hasn't even been an hour.." Lionel replied uncertainly.
"Your point? I must speak with Atli."
Lionel sighed and nodded, standing up from his spot on the floor. He limped out of the room and glanced at Levi, who had been waiting outside. Levi looked back at the previous heir.
A flash of red danced in the raven haired boy's eyes, overcoming the reddish brown color that his eyes usually were. He put a finger to his mouth and winked at the disabled boy before his eyes returned to normal and he was called in.
Levi walked into the room and spotted Atli almost immediately with his skilful eyes. Atli looked up at Levi, his first instinct was to shy away, but what if this was the friend he was asking for? He hesitantly stood up and walked over to Levi and looked at his father.
"Who's this?" He asked curiously. Levi chuckled and glanced at King Coyet, who nodded.
"I'm Levi, and you are?" Levi asked after introducing himself. He held out his hand.
Atli looked at his father, who gestured him to take the hand. So he did. They shook hands and Atli nervously looked at Levi. "I'm Atli.."
The King sighed. "My prince you must speak strongly if you want to have people respect you. This one is no different, they are all the same."
The young prince blinked and nodded, but was unable to speak. He was the young age of five, a shy boy at that, he felt nervous under the pressure.
"Would you mind if he was taken back to his room? He looks pale." Levi said, trying not to allow genuine worry drip from his solid voice.
The King looked at Atli, who had begun to shake, and nodded.
"I'm not allowing you to be alone with him." The King said sternly and fetched a maid. "Watch these two and never let either of the boys out of your sight." The King ordered. The maid nodded and lead them to Atli's room.
The five year old calmed down and sat on his bed. "Why don't you two get acquainted? You're going to start seeing each other a lot." The maid suggested calmly.
Atli nodded and sat on his bed. He reached over his bed and grabbed his bunny plushie and the teddy bear. He stood back up and walked over to Levi, holding the bear in front of him.
"Oh, no no." The maid said softly and grabbed the toys.
She had been given strict orders to not allow Atli to play with the toys. Especially with Levi. The prince had to train, not play.
She walked over and confiscated the toys and took them to a closet, forgetting her orders for a moment.
The two boys were now left in the young prince's room, and Atli could no longer have the only two toys he had left. Levi watched as the five year old sat on his bed, contemplating what just happened.
Atli put his head down as tears filled the five year old's crystal eyes. His room no longer had any toys, all of which were confiscated. Atli was always taught to not cry, he would be scolded if he was caught.
Arms found their way around the five year old's small body and Atli was pressed against something.
"W-what?" The prince asked quietly into Levi's chest.
Levi pulled back and wiped the young boy's tears with his thumb. "You're too young for this.." Levi mumbled to himself before pulling the boy into another hug.
Meanwhile the maid watched the simple scene with shock written on her face. Wasn't this seven year old the enemy? The boy knows what the Coyet's are capable of and what they've done to his family.
So why is he acting this way?
