There once was a person that had long hair and was built like a tree. They ruled their kingdom once their parents passed. No one knew the gender of the monarch except for the monarch themself. So everyday as the monarch stood on their balcony peering down at their kingdom people would take guesses. One guess was so wildly popular that it spread throughout the kingdom, it had even reached the castle. Once day as the monarch was walking down the hall on their plush red carpet and peering at the painting of their parents they overheard the kitchen serves talking about it. The monarch stood outside the door with their arms crossed and listening intently to the servers on the other side.
"I heard that she was trying to go male and her parents died before she could finish it so she stopped so she wouldn't dishonor their names."
The monarch hearing this quickly opened the door and the servants froze. The servant that was talking has his mouth still open and quickly shut it. The monarch narrowed their eyes and looked at each server ending on the one that looked like a mouse and the monarch was the cat. The monarch slowly walked over to the server preparing what to say.
They whispered, "Remember I own this castle-" They motion to the kitchen with their hands. "I see all and know all that happens inside its' walls. This is your final warning, I will not be disrespected in my own house."
The monarch leaned back to see the servants' pale face grow paler and his blonde curly hair become snow white. The monarch smiled at the other servants. "That is all." They said and walked out of the kitchen. The next day word has spread about the incident, each story crazier than the last. The servant himself had not learning his lesson and spouted even more theories and twisted the story so the monarch was the villain. When the monarch was told by another servant they were furious and quickly lept off their blue velvet throne, shoving the golden doors open and marching down the hall. When they finally spotted the servant they had their guards take them to the north tower for the day thinking things would calm down.
But the damage was done already, the servants friends spread even more rumors and the servant himself laughed off the monarch's threats after the monarch visited them at the tower and brought them water and supper.
The next day the monarch dragging the servant to their balcony. The whole kingdom watched at their beloved monarch had their guards hold the servant up. "You've all heard the rumors by now and I would like to say that none are true. I'm neither of the sexes, I'm intersex." They point at the servant. "This man has not learned kindness are respect for people like me. I've tried to be civil, but you test my patience. Today I take back my name. This servant will be locked away in the northern tower until the day comes that he learns to respect people like me." The monarch moves closer to the people. The servant grabs one of the guards' swords and tries to stab the monarch in the back. The crowd seeing this gasps and tries to warn the monarch. The monarch expected this and turned and unsheathed their sword and knocked the sword out of the servants hands. The guards took away the servant and the crowd cheered.
"Just remember t be kind and respectful and we can all hope for a better tomorrow." With that the monarch leaves the balcony with the sound of applause ringing out behind them. And they lived happily ever after. Or did they....?
