Kai^

Kai Silver was born in an assassin household. His father trained him the basics of assassination, reconnaissance, and survival skills at the age of 4 while her mother who specialize in poison teaches him the fundamental of poison techniques. Until he was six, his father taught him the way of an assassin-to be precise and merciless. He never lacks talent and always aims for recognition.

Though he grew in a very deadly manor, his parents never lacked affection towards him.

They always made time to bond and treat each other with respect.

One night before his tenth birthday, he was woken up from his mother's frantic calling. When his mother arrived at his room she quickly told Kai to hide himself from the secret compartment under his bed.

"Go under the bed, we're under attack" her mother said in a serious tone.

He complied without question knowing the situation is out of his hand and only to be a burden. But before he lock the secret door her mother walked closer and hugged him.

"Kai...I want you to be stronger ok?" He can feel his mother's hands shaking at his elbow. "Mom, what's happening?" questioned Kai.

His mother loosened her hold and faced the young assassin. The woman is conflicted to tell her son the situation but she knows the family is not strong enough to hold the invaders.

With heavy breath the mother told his son what is likely to happen.

"The dark cult is attacking us. Your father is strong but not as strong as a whole group of aura masters. So we decided to at least save you" her mother explained. Kai was dumbfounded and for a young boy-who was barely a toddler, losing his parents sank his heart. Tears silently seeped to the boy's eyes, his mother saw it and took him in her embrace.

As the sound of fighting and shouting erupted from below, his mother broke the embrace and took a last peck to his son's forehead.

"We love you darling...we always do" as she stands up and walks to the door. She took a last look at the boy and gave him a warm smile.

Kai, understanding the situation, puts himself together and hides in the compartment that's coated with concealment magic. As a trained assassin he remained calm though his heart was beating at an abnormal rate. He is about to lose his family and who could blame him.

After an hour, the sound of fighting died down and footsteps could be heard climbing the stairs. He remained intact in the bunker holding his breath. He knows his parents' footsteps so he knows...the footsteps are not theirs.

The footsteps grew louder and soon he saw three pairs of shoes at the doorstep. They searched the whole room failing to find the secret compartment. This is not a surprise because the concealment magic imbued in the trapdoor can barely be noticed even by an aura grandmaster. Kai breathes a sigh of relief when they come out of the room but soon realize the situation of his parents.

They were soon followed by three more people. They argued about something they failed to find.

[Shit! Did you find it?] Ask the one that sounded like a woman.

[Nothing...there is no trace here] Kai can feel the grim expression in the mans face even though he can only see his shoe.

[He got us good...The child?] The woman ask again. But the other three that went here first didn't said a thing. They only shooked their head.

Kai can't hear them clearly but soon realized it was him they were searching for. After their argument they decided to head back down and leave.

But after a couple of minutes, Kai noticed a burning smell.

[They are burning the manor!] The fog slowly thickens and fills the room, it's suffocating. Kai quickly made a decision to get out of the compartment. Thankfully the invaders made a mistake of not waiting for the manor to fully burn down; they gave Kai a chance of survival. Kai didn't waste this chance and went downstairs to his father's secret chamber.

Avoiding the falling debris he made it to his parents bedroom. He immediately went to his father's desk and moved it slightly from the right, there he found a button. He pressed it and soon, a staircase leading to the underground appeared. He walked inside and pressed another button to close it.

Making his way down he soon reached the bottom. The room is lit up by torches. It was a decent size room with only shelves and a desk that was stacked with paperwork. There is also a map hanging at the wall and pictures of the family. This was his father's secret office. The room is dedicated to hold the secrets of the family and also information his parents gathered in their life. As a professional assassin, his father holds deep connections with various people and kingdoms. But sadly enough his father's strength is not enough to defeat the invaders.

Kai made his way to his father's desk where he found a box accompanied by a letter . Look of confusion can be seen in his face as he opened the letter and saw it was for him from his father. He carefully read the letter that holds a shocking information.

My son,

If you are reading this, I believe that something happened and couldn't give you your present. I'm sorry that it has to come to this but I assure you that we are alive.

A month ago, me and your mother sacrificed one-fourth of our life force to create clones to live with you. I discovered that the dark cult is targeting us and I am not strong enough to fight them. Instead, I made preparations and found a way to hide from them but sadly we couldn't take you because you are yet to become aura master or even sense aura.

We are currently recuperating right now and I hope that when the day we unite, you are much stronger. Go to the capital and participate in the Annual Selection Exam. Find a woman named Selani Elisse and mention my name...she can help guiding you that is if you can manage to convince her to accept you as one of her desciples.

Me and your mother misses you, our son. I hope for your safety. Be strong my young assassin...till we meet again.

Your father.

[ Selani...Elisse?] Kai didn't know what to feel but despite all of that he sighed in relief. He trusted that his father is not someone you can just eliminate easily because apart from his skill, he is also a master at scheming. The Silver Assassination Group is notorious for their secrecy that no one- not even the king of the kingdom know of.

He opened the box and inside of it there is a teal tinted crystal that is tucked to a cotton fabric fitted to its size.

The boy carefully touched the crystal, admiring it. With a satisfied look he put down the box and got his hold on the crystal. The crystal emitted a threatening aura that seemingly surged with power. Out of nowhere the crystal is raised from the box and shot itself towards Kai's body

Suddenly a comforting feeling emerged from his body but then it got extremely uncomfortable and turned into violent tides. The aura in his body surged wildly and sharp pains erupted from his organs.

He is barely suppressing the pain but as the time goes by it only got stronger.

"Ahhh!!!"

Nothing but cries of pain will be heard in the room.

[My organs are burning...it feels like I am about to explode!]

He then started to scratch his skin in hopes of lessening the pain but it only made it worse.

2 hours felt like eternity for Kai as he struggled to keep being alive. The pain is so intense it feels like being stabbed with burning needles a thousand times.

After a more hour and so the pain slowly subsided. Kai's body is wrecked. Apart from his body twitching and spasming from time to time, his nails, mouth, ears, and eyes are bloody that you'd think he experience extreme torture- and it felt like torture. Although he survived, black dots started to appear infront of him as he passed out.

He didn't know what the crystal is, nor how it will affect him in the future. He didn't know...nobody knows.
