Down The Road

As I walked down the road to my own house, the rain kept pouring down. I hoped it wouldn't be like this all summer. Imagine a summer without sunshine?
Meanwhile, water on the road was up to my ankles. No, it didn't scare me, but I was just a little worried if it would ever stop soon. But I was close to my house anyways. Besides, it's not like there would be a flood or anything severe like that.
Emily's flops I had borrowed were soaked, but they would dry out. Now, I could see the tip-top of the roof of my house. I started to run so my mom wouldn't get worried about me. Then I tripped over the flip-flops and fell on my face; the water was actually freezing. I started to hear a strange sound, kind of like a sink decomposer or whatever that thing is called. (Sorry, the words kinda slipped out of my vocabulary😄😳)
I turned around to see a huge wave (not a tsunami, just like...a wave), and my mouth dropped open. I had totally jinxed myself! Struggling to get up, water was rising faster and faster. Finally, it came over my head, and I had to swim to the top. But it wasn't any nicer up there.
I swam in circles trying to relocate my house, and then I saw Emily's. The wave had reached her house..... The wave came crashing down on top; first the roof broke in half, then the brick walls crumpled like they were made of paper, and finally, every single window shattered at the exact same time.
But something in particular caught my eye; Emily had swam out of one of the broken windows....
