After Alex had come home from school (and haphazardly did his homework), he picked up the piece of paper with Benji's phone number on it and dialed it on his phone.
RING
Even though he may not pick up since Alex would be an unfamiliar number, he still had hope.
RING
Although Benji seemed pretty shy, Alex thought he might be a bit eager to answer the phone because he seemed to have found the younger boy attractive.
Benji answers.
"Um.. hello?" he says.
"Oh, hey it's Alex. You came to my house last night because we thought it was on fire." Alex stated.
"I remember," Benji replied. "So, what did you want to talk to me about."
"I don't know if I got the wrong idea," Alex said, cautiously. "But I think you may have found me cute last night and wanted to see if my assumption was true."
"Uhh... yeah, I guess." Benji mumbled.
"Oh thank god!"
"What?"
"It's just that you're super cute and was wondering if you wanted to maybe get coffee some time?"
"Of course!" Benji said excitedly. "What about Brown's in town?"
"Brown's? I didn't know there was another coffee shop besides Slammin'."
"It's that little shop across from the thrift store."
"Which one?"
"The one downtown."
"Okay! See you friday?"
"Friday."
Benji hung up the phone.
Overcome with excitement, Alex did a little happy dance in his room.
