It was finally time for your first day of school in Korea. So now that you had woken up, eaten breakfast, and changed your clothes, you were on your way to your new school. Of course, your bike was your means to transport. After a few turns, you couldn't help but notice that someone appeared from behind you and even outran you with ease. That someone was also riding a bike. "Interesting... Are there also good bike riders in this neighborhood?" When you saw him, you decided to accelerate your speed and tried to get to his level. But he was far too fast for you, so he was quickly out of your sight. Once he was gone, you dropped your speed and rode on a normal tempo again since you were in no rush and had plenty of time to arrive at school. You could easily find your way in those unfamiliar places since you had looked up a map on the internet how to get to your school and so you just had to orientate on that.

The school was finally in sight for you. Only a few more pedaling was needed and you were now on school grounds where you then got off your bike and locked it before you then made your way inside the building. It took you a while to find the staff room but when you finally did, you first knocked before you entered. "Oh! You're the new transfer student, am I right?", a woman asked upon noticing your presence, "I'll be your homeroom teacher from now on. Nice to meet you." You accepted her offered hand and you both exchanged a brief handshake. Once you two let go of each other's hand, she took a quick look at the clock and said, "The lessons will begin shortly. Let me get my things at my table and then let us head to the classroom together." So once she had grabbed the stuff she needed, you followed her to your classroom.
Once there, you entered right after your teacher and you could already hear the talking and murmuring of the students inside, which did not completely die down even after the teacher and you came in. The students, which were of course all girls, were whispering with each other while they took their seats and their gazes were directed to you. "As you can already guess, this is the new transfer student I told you about last week. Be friendly to her." your teacher said to the class and then she asked you to introduce yourself, so you did. "I'm (Y/N). I just arrived here in Korea a few weeks ago and therefore, I don't know anyone here because I lived in the US. So, I'd be grateful if you could guide me and I also hope that we can get along."
After your short introduction, your teacher assigned you to a seat. It was the window side on the middle row. "Nice!" From there, you had a nice view of the schoolyard as well as the street. But as you were gazing out, you couldn't help but notice the big building that was right next to your school. From the looks of it, you concluded it to be a school. But you didn't have the time to observe it completely because the lesson started immediately, so you had to focus on it rather than the school.

It was finally lunch break. And as it had started, you noticed that almost all your classmates gathered at your desk and began to do small talk.
Then, suddenly in the middle of all the talking, you spoke up. "I may be mistaken but", you pointed at the school next to yours, "Is this an all-boys school?" The reason you had suddenly asked them about it, was because on your way to school, you had encountered some boys who had gone the same way as you but you hadn't gotten the chance to see them enter the school. And another reason for you to not think that this was a co-ed school was, that the boys you had encountered so far and who had also been walking the way to this place, had been wearing the same uniform and you hadn't been able to spot a single girl wearing a different uniform than yours.

"Yes. It's said that only delinquents go there. So they have a pretty bad reputation."
Another girl continued to explain the situation. "Our schools can't get along. So it's pretty annoying and inconvenient for us that our schools are right next to each other."
"I see... But what is the reason for this situation?" you curiously questioned. They all looked at each other upon hearing your question. A kind of a strange atmosphere suddenly spread inside the classroom, which you immediately picked up.
But as you waited for them to finally tell you everything, the bell, announcing the end of lunch break, rang and so you didn't get the chance to listen to their story.
"We'll explain it to you after class." They said to you while they went to their seats to start the next lesson.
But you couldn't concentrate at all. What the girls had said before, kept on running through your mind and it made you more curious with every passing minute. And before you knew it, you had been glancing at the school with every chance you got during the lessons.
So when school finally ended, you could barely hold your anticipation while you waited for your classmates to finish packing their things.
Once outside the school grounds, they finally started to tell you the old story.
