Chapter two

Dad where are we going? As far away as possible, but for today we are going to stay at grandmas in town! Why it smells like shit there from her cows, pigs, horses, and chickens! "April says". Well honey it's just for tonight then we are gonna be moving to North Carolina. Oh my god really North Carolina I can't wait! Keith fell asleep on the way to grandmas house. He is so cute when he is asleep! Grandma comes outside as we pull into her driveway "hello everybody" grandma says. Dad I can't stand the smell here can we please stay somewhere else please? No honey we are only here for the night ok. Ugh ok I guess, ill grab Keith and lucky can you grab our clothes, pillows, and blankets? Yes you grab that and ill grab the rest! Oh oops I almost forgot Dino Dan. I walk straight inside and bring lucky and Keith downstairs to the guest bedroom for us kids and put Keith on one of the beds and set Dino Dan and lucky down next to him. I go back upstairs to help dad with our clothes and stuff. I grab all mine and Keith's stuff and head off back downstairs. I gently lift up Keith's head and place his pillow down, and cover him up with his blanket. He wakes up and says in a soft voice "sissy why are we at grandmas"? It's just for tonight Ke-Ke ok we are going on our road trip first thing in the morning to North Carolina. My grandma lives on this huge farm house all by herself my grandpa died 3 years ok in a car accident. I still don't know how my grandma can go through life taking care of everything in and at this house all by herself. As soon as I had everything situated inside I ran upstairs and told my grandma and dad I was going to go outside to the horse barn and ride my horse she is a very nice brown and white horse named brownie. Brownie is the best horse ever. As I run out to the horse barn I hear brownie. I think she knows that I am here because she is very excited! I go to here stall with her leash, Raines, saddle, and saddle blanket. I put the leash on her and walked her out to the paster in the barn to get her ready to ride. As I got the saddle all ready and went to get on her I heard Keith start screaming. I got on brownie anyways because my dad is inside with Keith, and I start riding and jumping the hurdles. By the time I get done riding it was time for dinner. Dad sends Keith out to come and get me. Dinner is done sissy. Ok Keith. Can I ride brownie before we leave tomorrow? Yes Keith after dinner ill bring you for a quick ride before we have to go to bed. Yay says Keith. Keith never got to ride a horse before because he was to young, but I think he is old enough now. I finally got the saddle and the saddle blanket off and put them down and brought brownie back to her stall and head inside. Ok Keith lets go wash our hands before we eat. As we are washing our hands dad is making our plates and putting them on the table and we each get a glass of soda. As we eat dinner dad and grandma are talking about what happened between dad and mom earlier. Me and Keith are done eating and head down stairs to shower and get ready for bed. While the tub is filling up for Keith's bath I help Keith get out his pjs and lay them out on his bed. Ok the bath is ready common Keith. After Keith is all cleaned up and brushes his teeth I have to put him to bed so I can go and shower. When I get done with my shower and brushing my teeth I went to bed. Dad comes downstairs "make sure you set your alarm for 6:30 so we can leave by 7" ok dad April says 9 1/2 hours later my alarm goes off. Yes finally time to get out of this joint. I woke Keith up and got him dressed, packed up all his things and brought his stuff out to the car. I walk back inside got dressed and got everything packed and brought it out to the car. I come back inside to see that dad was at the Conner drinking coffee. We all eat breakfast including lucky and head out to the car. I buckle Keith into his buster seat and he falls asleep. And now we are off to North Carolina.
