Arrival

Taissa's P.O.V

"Taissa!" Exclaimed Evan. "Let me get Emma"

He ran upstairs before I could answer. I heard a mumbled conversation just before Emma ran downstairs.

"Tai! It's been so long, i've missed you. How come you didn't drop in sooner? She questioned, leaning in to hug me.

"I'm sorry. I was wondering if you wanted go out to lunch" I asked awkwardly over her shoulder.

"Actually, I was just making some. Why don't you come inside" She smiled, ushering me into her huge house. Suddenly I seen flashes beside me and heard our names being called. Paparazzi, ugh.

"Get off my property!" Emma yelled, shutting her door.

"Those idiots" She muttered. I stood quite idly in her hallway.

"Oh, sorry. Come in. Do you like sushi?" She questioned, leading me into her huge kitchen.

"I love sushi" I replied as politely as I could. She walked over to the frying pan on the stove and stirred the tofu.

"I'll be just having this, because i'm on a 22 day vegan diet to lose 3 pounds" She spilled, not turning around.

She was so utterly skinny and I couldn't understand how she could possibly lose more weight. She was so perfect. Her hair was golden blonde and short at the moment but it went with everything she wore.

"My publicist told me to lose weight" She told me coyly. That was disgusting, how could they be so inconsiderate to her well being?

"You don't need to lose weight, you're like, so pretty" I declared, surprising myself and her.

"Thank you! But you know showbiz" She shrugged, her eyes lost in space for a moment. She dished up her tofu and put some sushi rolls onto two other plates.

"Would you mind going upstairs to get Evan, he is in the bedroom which is first door on the right" She turned around, bringing soy sauce and cutlery to the table. I nodded and walked sheepishly up the stairs to see the door was where she said it was and swinging open. Evan was on his phone on the bed. I knocked awkwardly.

"Emma said lunch is ready" I told him when he looked up.

"Oh ok" He sat up. Then he rolled off the bed, literally, and fell to the floor. My eyes were wide open at this point.

"Oh! Are you okay?" I jumped

They widened  even more when he ignored me just got straight back up and left the room. He laughed, in some way that I had never heard before as if he was embarrassed. I always laugh when i'm nervous and it sounds like I'm a witch when I do but Evan's was cute.

I remember saying something like that in an interview and the press went crazy. Accusing Evan of cheating, saying we were together and getting married. Emma then said in an interview they were perfectly happy together and it was merely a compliment on my behalf. Although Jack went ballistic at me, calling me a terrible girlfriend. I had felt so bad for months, doing everything I could to make him feel better. I bought cook book after cook book and made him a special dinner every night even though my hate for cooking was strong and I never had to do it before this. He never said than you at all. When Evan and I arrived downstairs Emma was already sitting at the table.

"What was that noise?" She questioned, her eyebrows knitting together.

"Oh nothing, isn't that right Taissa?" He replied, looking at me and wiggling his eyebrows in a suggestive way. What is his problem? He is making it look like we done something.

"So you fell of the bed again?" She laughed. Suddenly he let out some sort of roar that was supposed to be a laugh. When his laughter died down he muttered yes. I had never seen this side of Evan. He is so weird. Maybe it's just because I'm here? I don't know I just don't understand him.

"What do you think?" Emma asked calmly (which I had a hard believing she can be due to her crazy fiance) referring to the sushi.

"So good" He replied, not looking up.

"Delicious" I replied to her. When we had finished our meal Evan went back upstairs and Emma and I chatted over tea.

"Now. You have been crying, is it Jack?" She puzzled me.

"No I haven't i'm fine" I smiled as fake as ever.

"Oh please I have known you long enough to know when you're lying. Come on, spill" She raised her eyebrows.

"J-Jack" I began. "I was out buying groceries and when I came back..." I stopped swallowing a lump in my throat. It did not work. I sobbed.

"He was in bed with another girl" I cried. I brought my hands to my mouth in an attempt to mask the loud noises of my whimpers.

"Oh sweetie" Emma cooed. I know she is a really nice person but I felt Emma was belittling me by giving me a pet name. I also realize that people only give you those names when they feel sympathy for you, and I did not want to be sympathised. I dried my tears and huffed, angered by the sudden appearance of my emotions.

"Are you alright, do you want to talk about it?" She rubbed my back softly.

"No, but thanks. I'm sorry" I chuckled quietly feeling embarrassed

"Honestly I don't mind and i'm glad you were able to let it out" She smiled. "
Have you got a place to stay?"

"No" I replied sheepishly. "I'll get a place at a hotel though, it's alright" I patted my leg.

"No! Absolutely not, why don't you stay here?" She swatted her hand excitedly. "We have a guest room with it's own bathroom and Evan and I would have no problem with you staying here until you get back on your feet" She gasped, clapping her hands together. It would be fun, I guess.

"If it's ok, I'll stay then"

-
"Here you are" Emma said leading me into their guest bedroom. It was beautifully decorated and had its own bathroom too. I sat my bag down on the bed and turned around to Emma
"Thank you for letting me stay!" I put on a fake smile, all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and cry.
"No problem! I'm just across the hall if you need me" She walked out of the room.

I flopped down onto the bed wondering what the hell I was going to do now. I didn't want to be cry again so I glanced around the room, looking for something to distract myself. I saw an empty dresser and I took my clothes out of my bag and put them in the drawers. When I finished unpacking I showered, dried my hair and got into my pyjamas. It was late by then so I slid into my bed and fell asleep, too tired to cry any more.
