Chapter One

"So Harry, we've heard you have a little celeb crush. Care to share who she is?!" The interviewer placed the microphone in front of the curly haired boy.

"Uhhh..." He laughed as he scratched the back of his neck.

I bit my nail as the video played. Could this rumor be true?

"It's Nikki Kayer." He shyly stated.

The girls in the crowd screamed.

My jaw dropped as I paused the video. His smile was stretched across his features as was mine.

So THE Harry Styles has a crush on me?! Well me, but not me.

Ugh, whatever. Harry Styles likes me.

Excitement washed over me as I pressed play on the video.

"Ahhhh, Nikki Kayer. Word on the street is she's single." The interviewer winked. Harry blushed as the crowed went wild once again.

"I hope so." He laughed.

"So, did you guys know about his little crush?" The interviewer questioned the four other boys seated next to him.

"Yeah, I always catch him watching videos of her on YouTube." Louis laughed.

"And he has a picture of her set has his background on his phone." Liam interrupted, embarrassing his mate.

"So it sounds like you really like her." The interviewer grinned positioning the microphone in front of Harry once again, after he spoke.

"I guess you can say that." He replied in his thick, British accent.

"Nicole, you better be studying!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

I was brought back to reality. I closed my laptop and put it on the nightstand next to my bed.

Pulling my textbook out of my book bag, I read the pages assigned by my teacher.

'Chapter 10: Chemical Formulas'

I stopped reading right there.

"Ugh. I hate chemistry." I whined to myself, falling back onto my pillows.

I don't need to study. This is pretty easy anyways. Getting comfortable, my eyes closed and I drifted off to sleep.

*Beeeeeeeep*

The ringing of my alarm clock woke me up. That sound irritates me considering whenever I hear it, I have to wake up early AND go to school.

I dragged myself out of bed and into the shower.

I did what was necessary to prepare myself for the day and before I knew it I was headed out the door.

"Bye, mum!" I shouted into her room hoping not to wake her.

Walking through my hall, I grabbed my bookbag and threw it over my shoulder. Locking the door behind me, I slowly walked to my bus stop.

The only thing that would keep my hopes up is the interview I had later. I was excited because I could escape my regular life for a while and live the famous life.

Don't get me wrong, I love my regular life, hence why I have two identities. But sometimes it's cool to be in the spotlight for once. But I didn't want to merge those two lives together because then my life would be one permanent mess.

And that's not what I'm aiming for.

"Hey, Nicole!" Jessica greeted me as I joined her at the corner of my street.

"Hi." I smiled.

"It's Friday, sooooo I wanted to know if you could hang out tonight." She asked excitedly.

"Ohhh ummm, I think I'm gonna have to pass."

"You're such a fun sucker! What, are you gonna be too busy studying?!" She teased, knowing how important my grades are to me.

Don't worry, this is just our usual banter. No harm intended, just a laugh.

"Nope. My family decided to go out to dinner tonight. Fun, right?!" I pretended to be disappointed.

That's one small problem. My lives sometimes interfere with each other, which means canceling plans, risking certain things, and having to remember what I've lied about as an excuse.

But I'd much rather have it this way, than not even having a choice.

"Ehhh, maybe next weekend." She smiled as the bus pulled in front of us.

'Yeah, MAYBE.' I thought to myself. Emphasis on the maybe.

"Definitely." I responded, stepping onto the bus.

That is if I'm not too busy being Nikki Kayer.
