Aaaaaaand we're back! Y'all thought I abandoned this story, but fear not, for I have returned with some of the said "mischief" I promised you guys. I've been looking forward to writing this chapter for a long time now, as I feel like it might bring justice to some grievous events a previous chapter. Hope you enjoy!

Loki slouched upon the throne, twirling his dagger in between his fingers absentminded. Sylvie paced impatiently back and forth across the throneroom floor, occasionally glancing up at Loki, who watched her with an amused expression. Finally, she stopped pacing and turned to stare at him long and hard.

"So," she began curtly, "we're waiting up here to kill somebody?"

"Correct."

"Somebody who lives here?"

"Mhm."

"Who we've been waiting for for two hours?"

"Yes."

Sylvie frowned, approaching the throne where Loki sat. She clutched her dagger tightly against her side, but Loki wasn't worried. If she really wanted to stab him, she would be much more subtle about it. When she reached the throne, she hopped up on its arm, trying to wedge herself between it and Loki's side. Loki shoved her halfheartedly, but she seemed intent on being a pain in his ass.

"What are you doing?" Loki sighed unenthusiastically.

"Sitting," Sylvie replied. "What else would I be doing?"

"It appears to me that you're trying to shove me out of my throne. Again."

Sylvie wedged herself even further between Loki and one arm of the throne so that he was pinned up against the other arm. Then, she spun herself around so that her knee pinned Loki to the back of the throne, and she held her dagger to his throat. "My throne," she hissed. Loki rolled his eyes. Even since they had arrived at the Grand Palace on Sakaar, Sylvie had taken it upon herself to do everything in her power to make sure Loki couldn't sit on the throne. She would throw him off of it and sit smugly for a while. Then, he would do the same to her. It was pointless- a child's game- but it passed the time.

They were waiting for the Grand Master to show up. Sylvie kept arguing that they would waste less time by hunting him down throughout the palace, but Loki was more inclined to make him suffer. What better way to do that than to kill him on his  home turf? He was going to die a very slow and painful death, and Loki wanted to do everything possible to rub his helplessness in his face.

Loki chuckled as the cool edge of the blade lightly tickled his neck. "We're really going to do this again, Loki?" he taunted.

Sylvie glared at him. "You know better than to call me that," she growled.

"Do I?" Loki replied with a grin. He took advantage of her distracted state and slipped his arms around her waist. In one swift motion, he flung her forward, and she tumbled across the floor in front of the throne. "Pity," he sighed. "You were so incredibly close, but I'd have to argue that this is my throne."

Sylvie regained her composure and glowered at him. She brandished her dagger and was prepared to charge towards him, but then a muffled stream of expletives echoed down the hall leading to the throne room, and she stopped abruptly. "Is that our guy?" Sylvie asked. Loki nodded. He leapt down from the throne and met her at her side, and the two stalked down the hall towards the trap they had set. Sure enough, when they turned the corner, the Grand Master was dangling haphazardly in the hall, hanging upside-down by his ankle. "Guards!" he roared. However, Loki and Sylvie had taken the liberty of disabling the guards' obedience chips long before the Grand Master arrived, so they were no longer obligated to follow his orders. The Grand Master flailed about aimlessly in the air for a moment before he noticed Loki and Sylvie's presence. When he did, his eyes narrowed into angry, eyeliner adorned slits, but his mouth curved into a thin smile.
