Never Normal [Chapter 5] Incapable:
"Lloyd?!"
Kai ran into the Bounty, frantically searching for his friend. Best friend, actually. And, that's what scared him. He feared he was going to lose his best friend, in only a couple days.
"Lloyd where are you?!"
Kai burst through the door to the bridge, hoping to find the green one. His head turned in all directions until it stopped on the corner that lay right next to the monitor.
Kai had found Lloyd alright, but he found the young one in a ball, his back heaving and small gasps of breath escaping the boy's mouth.
"Lloyd..?"
"G-Go away... I d-don't want to talk to you...
"Lloyd what's wrong..?"
"I s-saw it all... I h-have to fight a giant demon and win.... I-I can't even beat a dummy..."
Kai sighed and said, deep concern and care in his voice, "Lloyd... It's going to be alright... I won't let anything happen to you..."
A head came up to look at Kai, small blonde locks sticking to his face with tears, "A-Against that thing? It t-took your sword and crushed it, and h-hit you to the side of the boat..."
"I admit I wasn't on my 'A' game but-"
"In order for me to take on that thing I need to be on the 'A+++++' game then!"
"Lloyd."
Before anything else was said, the door opened once more and the others peered in slightly. Kai got up and went over to them, shoving their faces out of the doorway and slamming it, but not before flipping them off slyly.
Kai turned back around, only to see Lloyd was gone. Kai's head and shoulders dropped in sadness, 'If I can't beat that,' he thought to himself, 'then how am I able to think Lloyd can...'
As he turned to leave, a loud blare from the monitor caught his attention. He whipped around and faced the screen, fear in his eyes.
There on the screen, was the little boy being cornered by the beast, "Lloyd!"
Kai ran out the doorway, shoving the others out of the way as he frantically sped towards the deck, "Lloyd I'm coming!"
As he finally made his way on deck, he saw the demon rising on her back four legs, mouth wide open and red starting to glow as she prepared to melt Lloyd as quickly as melting butter.
"No!"
Kai jumped and pushed Lloyd out of the way, and out of instinct, he turned back around to face the beast.
She glared at him chuckling slightly, "I knew this'd work.."
"What would work?"
"I knew if I put your little man in danger, his knight in shining armor'd come to save him."
"You lay another claw on him so help me God I will skin you and hang your skull above my bed's headboard."
"You talk big words for someone so, fragile."
Kai scoffed at this and immediately his hand caught fire. He moved it behind him and got ready to throw it at the dragon, but instead she smirked and said, "Come at me bro."
Kai chuckled slightly and ran at her, screaming swear words. But she simply hit him back with her tail and said, "Have a safe flight, Riding Hood!"
She smashed her heavier tail on the floor of the deck and Kai stumbled slightly, and then fell.
Smiling, she turned back to Lloyd who had tears rolling down his face, screaming and sobbing already by the side of the boat where Kia had fallen. He kept crying out as the creature walked to him and whispered in his ear, "I'll see you in a few days, squirt."
