In the dark corridor, a sound of panic and desperation to live can be echoed, followed by the sound of metallic steps. Barely any light can be seen. In fact, the only source of light is at the end of the corridor near the entrance where one way is the exit and the other is a room where the true source of light is.
From the darkness, a middle-aged man dressed in a night guard outfit covered in sweat and blood, made to the light and slammed the red button so hard and then the next. 2 Metal sheets came down to the ground, sealing him inside a small room where the light is. Desperately catching his breath, the guard looked at the window to see if who or whatever was chasing him is close by. He didn't dare use the lights to see the darkness as he was trying so hard to conserve what very little he had left. But in the end even he cannot deny the fact that his moment of death is at hand. Not by a human, not by an animal, but by a monster.
"SWEET CHRIST!" he cried. "WHY ARE THEY EVEN CHASING ME!?! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!"
This fell into deaf ears as he was the only human inside the dreadful place. Try as he might, the realization of death being so close by the hands of these monsters overwhelmed the sense of reason in his mental state. All that remains is fear. Fear of the 4 that he was suppose to look after in the night. The 4 that were so priceless in this business. The 4 that were chasing him.
He wished, prayed, no. He begged the clock to strike at dawn and the creatures to return back to their spots. He even closed his eyes tightly while begging. Then...it happened. The only source of light has diminished. And the doors that were shut are now open. Darkness was the only thing left, for now.
"NO! NOOO! NONONONONONONO!!!" The guard tried fruitlessly to shut the doors. But in the dark, even the doors would not obey. After a few seconds, a figure appeared in the dark entrance with eyes flashing, while playing a musical tone. Even though the music was child friendly, it is a nightmare to the guard, as it was a sign that he was cornered. It was his angel of death.
"Please!" He cried to the creature. "I mean you no harm! I just want to-" Then, complete utter darkness. Even the shadows were invisible to the naked eye. The sound of air coming in and out of the man was loud and hard. He looked at every direction to see where the figure was. Then, out of the darkness, a giant bear with a hat, bow tie, and eyes of a dead human, jumped out and grabbed the man. The bear then dragged the guard towards another room near the center of the building where he sees 3 others. A rabbit, a chicken, and a fox. They all made strange whizzing sounds as they stared at the guard with eyes filled with hate.
They reached the room where it was filled with masks, metal skeleton, and circuits. The bear lifted the guard like he was cardboard and forcefully shoved him inside a suit on the table. The suit was filled with metal, wires, cords, and was too small for anyone to fit in.
"NO!!! PLEASE GOD NO!!!! AAHHHHHHHHH!!!" The last breath came out of the guard as the suit penetrated his lungs, filling them with blood. Now gasping for air and coughing the thick red liquid out of his mouth, the guard started to feel cold. The warmth of life was fading. Fading and fading until the icy feeling took over. After a few twitches, the guard stopped moving. The suit was soaked with his blood. The bear had fulfilled his task in being the guard's grim reaper. The deed is done.
After a good while, the bear returned back the center along with the rabbit and the chicken. But the fox remained behind. Staring at the body of dead man inside a suit. For a moment, the fox's eyes began to show a hint or regret and remorse. But even that won't turn the clack back.
"I'm so sorry." Whispered the voice of the fox, a voice that sounded like a female. The fox then closed the door, leaving the body to rot in the suit for the remainder of the night...
