3 days had passed since their confession of love to one another, Softeye felt as if a heavy weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She and Harepaw kept their love for each other away from the cats who didn't know, like Onyxleaf's kits Weedkit and Windkit. Softeye turned her head in the direction of her apprentice, unable to hide it now, she was blushing. "We mustn't let our love get in the way of training," she had told her apprentice, was proving difficult. Softeye and Harepaw looked at Vineheart sharing tongues with Crevicestripe. "I'm surprised she hasn't had his kits yet," she said one training lesson, to which Harepaw nodded. "Sheathed claws please!" Harepaw was doing well in his training.

"Give it all you got!"

"Nice work."

Softeye turned her head in direction of the voice.

"Hello Beechstar brings you over the border?" Beechstar smiled. "I wish to see Fernstar."

"Very well, Harepaw stay here please." The striped Tom nodded and carried on twacking the bush. Softeye lead the brown leader toward camp. "Beechstar?" Fernstar's ears pricked. "What brings you here?"

"Only bad news Ferny." 'Did Beechstar just call her Ferny?' The brown tabby turned his head not looking at Fernstar. Beechstar's eyes darkened to deep shade of ice blue. "DarkClan and FlyClan are getting hostile," the GrassClan leader's ears lowed and he started growling, blue fire in his eyes. "We must be prepared for war," he hissed," we must unite." His eyes returned to their light shade. "May I send some of my queens?" Fernstar was on the brink of tears. Beechstar looked up, concerned. "Beechstar did you used to belong here," Softeye asked, suddenly. Beechstar flushed. "When I was an apprentice, I was 'stolen' by DarkClan then GrassClan took me to their clan and I was raised there," Beechstar said. Fernstar retreated to her nest. "It's hard for her," Beechstar sympathized. "Oh StarClan, Harepaw!" Softeye raced off. "I'm so sorry," she said nuzzling him, Harepaw forgave her by nuzzling her back. Beechstar looked up in surprise as Softeye came back still nuzzling Harepaw. "Goodnight," she said to Harepaw. Softeye went to warriors den, more tired than anything, she wondered why, probably all the training. Vineheart looked up and around. "Hey Softeye, great news Tugerpaw's ceremony is delayed until he ups his work!" Softeye looked at Vineheart, she somehow thought there was something Vineheart wasn't telling her. Softeye couldn't take her sister seriously anymore. "Beechstar are you leaving," Softeye asked. "Sadly no, Ferny needs me."

"Why do you call her Ferny?" Beechstar looked at a random bush. "When I was still in the clan me and Ferni- I mean Fernstar had a relationship similar to your and Harepaw's."

"You heard." Softeye had an annoyed looked upon her face, to which Beechstar giggled.

Beechstar bowed his head and went to Fernstar. "I can only stay one more day," Beechstar said, sadly.
