Arunas couldn't control the tears that flowed from her eyes. There was sadness and pride in his heart at the same time. Her husband had left, but many warriors had left to become free spirits.

Unable to control her trembling legs, the young girl slowly dropped herself to the floor of the cell she was in. She tried to take a deep breath, but the veil on her face was preventing it. Although, even without the veil, the smell of blood and feces surrounding the cell would have prevented Arunas from filling her lungs enough.

Still, she tried to regulate his reactions, breathing as calmly as she could. When she entered the half-open cell, surrounded on three sides only by iron bars, she should not jump on her husband's neck and take refuge in his arms. The effect of what she saw, the sadness and pain that her soul felt, should not be consoled in his power.

She closed her eyes and began to listen to the sounds around her. First, the sound of the first door was heard. She could distinguish the disrespectful sounds of a few Roman soldiers... Then came the sound of the second door; This time a little closer. Not a breather had passed, when Arunas heard the door in the cell she was in open. Without opening her eyes, she stood up, rubbing her back against the wall she was leaning against. She had to draw strength from the wall because her knees and hands were still shaking.

She still hadn't opened her eyes when the cell door opened. Arunas waited until the meaningless conversations of the Roman soldiers ceased until she didn't feel their presence. Finally, when she realized that she was alone with those who had come in, she opened his eyes.

thirteen men; thirteen warriors; thirteen proud men stood in front of him, bloody but solid. Foremost was her husband. The moment she took a step towards him, something in Alb's gaze stopped her; It made her listen carefully. At that moment, she noticed Antonius crouched in a corner as if waiting for her to speak, to make a move, and froze where she was.

A mistake; one mistake and she could ruin all her husband's plans. How savage were these Romans, and how clever was her husband? He had come out of a heavy battle in that arena, but he didn't let go of his control. Thinking of everyone he had sworn to protect, the man stood watchful, not letting his guard down for a moment.

Antonius approached the cell's bars without saying a word. He and Alb stood facing each other and didn't say a word.

"Aren't you going to show me your face?" said the Roman commander, smiling as he handed Alb a dagger from his waist; "Before you go; at least..."

Alb's smile was evident in his voice; "One day... When he deserves to be one of us; when we are equal... Maybe..."

As Antony's short laugh echoed through the dim corridors below the arena, the last sound of his vanishing presence was heard; "Before dark, you will set out for the Antonine Wall. Good luck..."

When the door of the cell they were in was closed, Alb took a few steps towards Arunas and hugged his wife tightly. The warriors dispersed into the cell, relieved. The young commander wanted to get strength from his wife, whose body he was holding on to, but he could not succeed. As the man slowly fell to his knees; Arunas didn't even want to think about what she was feeling.
