She was heading home after a long walk outside, in the snow covered streets- almost as customary and dull....

if it weren't for the wonder she spotted along the way.

A large Alaskan Malamute, almost reaching her waist with jet-black and snow-white fur in chosen places, bright charming blue eyes.

It was, all-in-all, her exact definition of a 'sweetheart'.

She slowly walked towards the creature of her fascination, murmuring sweet words dripped in honey as she reached out to pet it gently, producing a biscuit from the gift box she received from her friend earlier.

The cyan haired girl gained its trust earlier than she thought and in a few wags of a lamb's tail- it was already basking in the warmth her stylish aubergine trench coat provided.

"Good boy~" she cooed and giggled as the dog licked the side of her face in thanks for the biscuit she fed it. She ruffled its fur and it barked in delight.

Safe to say that both had found their missing pieces: a dog searching for a mistress- a person to take care of him, and a fifteen year-old girl who was currently in search for a more sensible- and even more human- companion aside from her butler who barely even gives a sod about her and everything that transcends their contract,

she threw a rueful glance at the back of her black-gloved left hand, and hugged the dog tighter, yet careful not to choke it.

'I only wanted him to care. I may not look like it- but I still need someone to genuinely take care of me.'

After her parents died, she was left with no one. She ran away, lived in the streets, worked tons of random jobs.

It was not as if she actually minded not to have anyone. She got along fine. Thrived like the great artist she is bound to be: all she ever needed was her left hand- the source of all her skills.

But that was way until she met him- a butler: with eyes as red as wine, skin more pale than snow, hair pitch-black as the unsympathetic soul of the demon he has, a smile so tempting and repulsing, addictive and revolting, that had shown so many emotions that there were times she was delusional enough to even waste a second thinking that maybe- just maybe- there was a time, even just a single fleeting second would suffice- that that very cold and scheming face had shown worry and genuine concern for her well-being.

That those very eyes would someday be filled with something other than desire and a hungry longing for her soul.

The dog whimpered as if feeling her pain and snuggled closer to her, she had managed a soft chuckle, fog vaporizing with each breath and sat up, looking into depths of honest blue,

"You're coming with me~" she smiled in such a way that made the dog's mouth seem to turn upwards as well.

"Woof~!"

She walked into her flat, the dog obediently following behind her.

"Welcome, my princess." the same low voice greeted her as the raven-haired butler appeared from the kitchen wearing an apron and a beige vest in exchange of his usual tailcoat. He walked towards her and helped her remove her coat to hang it on the coat hanger conveniently placed beside the door.

She gave him a disapproving look,

"You should've opened the door like the good butler you're supposed to be."
