If it were possible, Sunghoon would have taken his eyes off of his best friend but that seemed to be a growing struggle.

He failed to hide the pure admiration in his bright eyes as he, amongst a few others watched Jay take centre stage to dance his heart out with four other people.

He only recognised one out of the four, Heeseung's boyfriend, he grimaced at the thought of already forgetting his name.

Sunghoon was always bad with those, he hoped that he would catch it to avoid any awkward confrontations.

He could admit, the boy could dance. He searched with little luck, the boy had no bones in his body. The other three were exceptional as well. From the few hours he was there he hadn't found a single talentless person. Their vigor for dance and their passion was clearly shown by the power they radiated on the dance floor.

He tried to focus on the others but his eyes always went back to Jay who's entire focus was on his routine. He had seen tiny snippets of the dance before, it was a choreography Jay had helped to create. He could see a glint of happiness in the way he moved. He had worked hard, Sunghoon thought.

That was one of his favourite sights. Seeing Jay express his emotions through his love for dance.

He was probably the one who encouraged his own journey through dance and one of the reasons why he wanted to take a different route.

As the dance came to a halt and the five struck their poses he couldn't help but stare in admiration. Soon the practice room was filled with cheers.

Jay walked over to him after being handed a towel to wipe the sweat of his forehead. He sat quietly beside him on the floor with a wide grin.

"How was it? Did I do good?", Jay knew he needed little assurance, the amazed reactions of their audience telling him all he needed to know however it always felt nice to hear how great he was from Sunghoon and of course his very best friend would never disappoint. He matched the same wide smile.

"Jay-ah, I knew you were bad, I just didn't know you were that bad", Sunghoon immediately earned a hard punch on his shoulder.

"Yah!"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding", he assured, "You were great"

"Sunghoon-ah", Heeseung called out to him, "Why don't you show us your abilities. Don't you wanna teach these people a thing or two"

Sunghoon was hesitant. He was surprised even. It was one thing to dance in front of Jay and Heeseung but it was another to dance for a bunch of people he did not know.

He couldn't understand. He'd performed for thousands of people before but something felt different. On ice he could distract himself with the thought of not falling but on the ground, without his faithful skates, it felt different. It felt like he was learning to walk again. His balance was amazing yet he hesitated to stand up.

"Ooh Hoon", Jay piped in, "remember the choreo we worked on last year?, Why don't we do that?!", he suggested, he thought he'd feel a little shy dancing on his own.

Jay was tired, he'd danced his hardest but what would a few more minutes do to him. He'd danced for eight hours straight, it wouldn't hurt so much.

"Ooh yes, I wanna see the dynamic duo", Heeseung clapped. He'd only seen the two dance once and once was enough to tell him how much of a powerful stage presence they brought.

"Alright" there was an outburst of cheers. Jay came closer to him and offered his hand. Sunghoon took it without a second thought and got off the floor.
