A cleric yearns for true love's hand,
for her, his prized possession.
He conjures up contorted plan
to figure love's repression.Maiden and knight connected firm,
as close as they could be.
Together, forward they confirmed,
rare passion they decried.Priest cursed in dread the lover's fair
to transform at dawn and dark.
Doomed, the two to never share
their human forms his mark.Destined forever to be disjointed;
separate, yet entwined.
Their fated souls all but destroyed,
a lady and knight maligned. She turns to hawk in bright of day,
faithful by knight's side,
lifting 'neath the sun's gold rays,
together while he rides. The sunset brings the lady back.
At night she does remain.
The wolf protecting on attack,
apart they will remain.Heavy-hooved, a mighty stead
carries the curs-ed knight.
O'er hills and valleys tread,
he contemplates his plight.By day he escorts hawk aloft
upon the shifting winds.
The dusk is when his heart is lost,
as howling wolf reminds. In the dark the wolf appears
as glimmering sun sinks down,
doomed to spend the coming years
apart from love profound. In night's mist the large, black beast
defends his partner fair,
all the while their connection increased
despite their fateful pairing. From far away a stranger hails
the brave knight and his hawk.
He hears the curs-ed lovers' tale
and reveals the curse's lock.He boldly then declares a plan
to join them once again,
to turn the wolf and hawk to human,
damning curse's reign. The moment when the sun and moon
are equally displayed—
a cosmic power will strike immune
the evil that was lain.Together the knight and hawk appear
in front of priest's black glare.
The sun is covered by moon's dark sphere
while priest drops down in fear.At once the hawk transforms to her,
she embraces her beloved.
To priest she vows to cause transfer
the curse he caused thereof.Pastor then becomes a snake
to slither in the mud,
doomed to feel the great heartache
they carried in their blood.Knight and maiden forever now,
together in the flesh,
promising their marriage vows,
eternally enmeshed.Forever the evil priest, he squirms,
creeping all around
with the sludge and slimy worms,
perpetually cast down.
