1 hour, 27 minutes and 35 seconds; that's how long Sam Beckett has been in this leap. Already he was feeling unconcerned about this one. Although there was a possibility that he would have to perform in front of an audience, that didn't seem like much compared to other things he had to do - convince a woman to not commit suicide, escape a house where he was held hostage by a crazy couple, the list went on and on. To Sam Beckett, to others, who if they ever had to go through what he went through, this would be a piece of cake.

Sam and Tyler's friend, Marcus Evans, now stood in front of an old sandwich shop. The words, "Sandy's Sandwich's" hung crooked above the door and the once bright red paint on the building was now a pale salmon. Marcus walked to the door and opened it up. He turned back to face Sam.

"Come on, Ty! I ain't gettin' any younger!"

Sam hesitantly moved forward, his mind warning him that this place reeked chaos.

"What's up with you?" asked Marcus, pushing him through the door, "you don't like sandwiches anymore? Boy, you musician types, goin' through all these phases and what not..."

Sam shook his head, trying to push away all the alarms going off in his head. You need to relax. He told himself. This is just a sandwich restaurant. It's not like you're the pig that gets chopped and churned into ham for the sandwiches... Relax Sam...

Sam watched Marcus sit down on a stool in front of the counter.

"Ey Sandy! Where you at, girl?" Marcus hollered, looking over towards the kitchen. Sam glanced over, and saw a thin, young blonde emerge in front of his eyes.

"Oh, Marcus!" She screeched romantically, jumping over the counter and kissing Marcus aggressively. Sam just sat there, awkwardly smiling and looking back and forth to see when the two love birds would stop.

"It's been too long, Marcus, way too long," she said, gazing deeply into his eyes.

"It's only been three days, Sandy!" smiled Marcus.

"Well, that's an eternity for me," she answered. She turned her attention to Sam.

"Hey Tyler!" She said with a sincere smile on her face. Sam, who was fiddling with a napkin, jumped  a little, surprised to see that that they were done canoodling. He looked up at her and grinned.

        "Oh, h-hello Sandy!"

Sandy raised her eyebrows, but kept silent. She looked over at Marcus and began messing with his bow tie.

        "So, the usual babe?"

Marcus nodded, eyes fixated on hers.

"Vinegar, lettuce, pickles, turkey, cheddar cheese, a dash of onions and extra tomatoes -" said Sandy.

"On wheat," they both said at the same time. They chuckled.

"You know me so well, Sandy, you know me so well!"

"Course I do! I never like to disappoint my favorite customer," she said. She turned her attention to Sam. "And you, Tyler? The usual?"

Sam nodded and said, "yes please." Sandy clapped her hands and scooted back over the counter.

        "Comin' right up!"

Marcus' head followed her as she she left the counter and went through the kitchen doors, and as soon as she was gone, he slapped his dirty shoes up on the counter and bent his head back on his hands, embracing the cheap florescent lights above.
