Pawns too won;

26 7 2

One day,

I'll grin broadly;

One day,

I'll smile widely;

At the lost me

Who thought that she could be

Anything she wanted to be

One day,

I'll look back;

One day,

I'll reminisce;

At the naive me

Who thought that she could see

Anything she wanted to see.

One day,

I'll remember;

One day,

I'll mull over;

At the gullible me

Who didn't think she'd have to plea

To fly and to be free;

But one thing she wasn't counting upon,

Was her own self moving on;

She always considered herself a pawn,

Oh, she didn't know that pawns too won.
