Dean POV:

The bright morning wakes me up slowly and makes me roll over until I realize Seth is still asleep on my chest. I watch him for a while and admire how peaceful he looks as he sleeps. The past couple of weeks have gone perfectly. I took care of him well while adjusting to his family, whoever came to visit him. Everyone blamed my dad for Seth's injuries and tried to collapse his mind, but to my surprise, he had accepted none of it.

And I'm glad about it. While my personal life is going well, my professional life is also changed a little and gave me the hope to take care of everything smoothly. Yeah... I'm not the same person I've been before. And I'm not the same person as I'm with him and Roman. I'm something else.

Standing on my own two feet for the first time. Making my own decisions. Choosing who I am and what I want to do. Choosing to be a good person. It isn't easy that I've found. It takes effort every single day, but the work is what matters. The choice is what matters!

Sighing heavily, I still glance at him and press a kiss on his temple. I hate to move him, but there is another property that I want to check out today. I try easing his head onto the bed, but he starts to grumble while his eyes remain closed. "Seth?" I place his head on the pillow next to me. "Wake up, baby."

He opens his eyes slowly and stares at me, "Dean?"

"Yeah, I want to leave home for a while." I try to explain to him and make him recall the conversation we have talked about last night. "You know, to check out a property for the bar."

He instantly perks up. "Can I come?"

I remember how my friend is used to accompany me on these trips, but Seth is a part of my life, so why not. "If you want," I smirk at him and poke his nose gently.

"Cool!" He bounds out of bed and stretches his body slightly, trying to relieve the slumber out of his body.

"You have half an hour to get ready," I say, getting up from the bed and taking my phone to check out the notifications.

"Half an hour?!" He looks completely bewildered. "But I haven't even picked out my outfit yet."

I smack him on the ass and push him slightly toward the bathroom. "Well, I don't care."

"And I haven't even had breakfast." He complains, standing at the door and frowning at me.

"We'll stop at a cafe along the way." I pick up the towel and walk over to him, draping it across his shoulder. I walk out of the room and call out to him, who is still pouting at the door. "Thirty minutes and no more, or I'm leaving you." I chuckle and leave the room when he starts to complain.

Half an hour later, I'm standing by the front door with my hand on the knob. I really don't intend to leave Seth, but I don't want to wait around forever for him to get ready.

However, he's on time walking out in a body-skimming red t-shirt, skinny blue jeans, and white sneakers. A cap sits on his head, slightly askew, and he is wearing his black-rimmed aviators. It instantly takes me back to the train incident that he has walked into my life. Such a pretty baby! "I hope you're happy," He says as he approaches me. "I couldn't find anything to wear in such a short time frame."

I hook my fingers into his front pockets and pull him against my hips. "You look damn good to me," I murmur and suck his plump bottom lip into my mouth for a few seconds. I release his lip and unlock the door, walking through it only to look back at him, standing there as if he's in shock.

"Well, come on, we don't have all day." I usher him out of the house and lock the door behind me.

As I walk over to the driveway, I say loud enough for him to hear, "You better hold on to your cap while I'm driving the car." With that, we step into the car and settle into it comfortably, glancing at each other for a second before taking off.

We arrive at a small building a couple of blocks from the ocean in a quiet part of Long Island. The owner is a middle-aged man who's appeared in a black suit and waved a hand at us. The building is suitable, but the reviews are not worth appreciating. Even if it doesn't provide sufficient income, the owner will never be ready to sell it until he's found the right person.

I've visited it many times before with Roman and worked here, as well, but now I want to show Seth around. I have a good feeling about this place, that's why I have forced the owner too much. It is far enough for people to feel that they are away from it all, but not too far away that people will feel they have to get here.

I walk in and follow by Seth sipping on a chai latte that he has to get with extra foam from Starbucks. The place smells good, so there isn't a lot that needs to be done to change anything. He walks around wordlessly, saying nothing as he sucks on the bright green straw.

I'm picturing where I have to readjust the bar and how many tables that I have to put in the space. It will be a colossal undertaking personally for me as I have never done anything like this before.

He comes up behind me and tugs on my sleeve. "What's that?" He points to a wide-open staircase.

I grin widely, "That's the best part."

He follows me as I lead him up the stairs onto the rooftop. It is a flat roof that will be perfect as a getaway space. A few chairs, a couple of benches may be, and some fairy lights strung across it will be perfect for the person who wants to get away and nurse their drink. Previously, the owner put some of his old stocks here. But I like to build up a guardrail here, and it will be such a small investment for such a big payoff.

I explain my idea to him, and he nods with approval. "I really like it, Dean. You can even see the ocean clearly from here." He reveals his view and grins at me.

"Yeah, I figured that it's a delicate touch, even if at night you can't see it, but you can smell it." I walk up behind him and lock my arms around his waist, and he leans back against me.

"It's such a sizable space, and I can help you decorate for our taste." He says as he drains the cup, making obnoxious slurping noises with the straw. I'm surprised and glad that he's showing such interest in the property. "I would like that. I don't have a clue about decorating stuff."

"Yes, I've realized." He replies flippantly.

I give him an extra tight squeeze around his waist, which makes him squeal. I laugh and release the tight hold, keeping my arms locked around him. "I love you."

He turns around and removes his sunglasses, tucking them into the neck of his t-shirt. He places the hand that is holding the empty cup over my shoulder as he leans in. His lips press on my mouth in a slow, sweet kiss.

I pull him tightly against me as I taste the flavors of the drink that he has just consumed. My fingers dig into the base of his ponytail, losing it up as the fervent kiss continues. I can feel his fingers pressing into my scalp as we suck each other's lips in the open on the rooftop. If it's nighttime, I will probably try to fuck him right here on the roof.

With a grin on my face, I press a kiss on his neck and make him feel a shiver shoot down his spine. Everything is perfect right now. I have my baby, and I'm on the verge of saying yes to my dream. I pull away from him and lock fingers with him, leading him back down the stairs to the owner, who is leaning against his car.

Seth tosses the empty container into a nearby garbage can as we approach. I keep a tight grip on his fingers while having a brief conversation with the owner about the property. I have just taken a giant step in my life, and I'm still nervous as fuck about it.
