The Orc Slayer: A Shadow of Mordor Short Story

The Orc Slayer

My name is Althieras, the hunter of both Orcs and Uruks. But I couldn't do what I do without the Wraith who has been permanently bonded to me, who goes only by the name of Orvak. This is the story of how we came together, and the journey we have been through together...

Five Years Earlier:
"Commander Althieras, can you see this?" The patrolman asked as he stared at the horizon. Althieras followed the patrolmans finger until he was also staring at the horizon, his eye's slowly widened in shock.

"By the wise!" Althieras cursed, "This is gonna be one hell of a problem" he said as he watched the thousands of Orcs and Uruks that were approaching them at a steady pace. Suddenly without warning the Orcs and Uruks charged. Althieras yelled "To arms men, let's give the vile creatures a battle that will be sung about in the inns of our descendants."   The men yelled and began charging. Althieras joined in with the charge as they tried forcing the Orcs back with brute strength.

The Rangers fought hard and long, but the Orcs strength in numbers seemed to be prevailing and soon most of the Rangers were dead, or dying.

But in the confusion of the battle Althieras managed to escape. Heavily bleeding he collapsed on the ground. Suddenly the world around him turned blue and in front of him was a Wraith. "Am I dying?" Althieras asked the wraith replied in a cold voice "No, I am saving you from death..."

*Sorry about this being so short, I sort of lost inspiration for this short story half way through. Hence why this is only a one off thing. I know it sucked, I'm still trying to find a series that I can write fanfiction of it without getting bored. The only series I've found is The Elder Scrolls. Thanks for reading :D
