Josh was all but confirmed to be debuting on the main roster after massive years spent dominating the North American Title scene, holding the belt for close to a year but now it was time for Josh to take the next giant step for his career; and that was making his debut on the main roster. Before he did so however, Josh said his goodbye to NXT in an emotional promo:

Josh: Well, what a ride it's been huh? I remember walking into the PC about 3 years ago, absolutely crapping myself. I had never wrestled at his level before, let alone in a foreign country. But I can safely say, this has been one of the best periods of my life so far. As for this belt that I have carried across my shoulder for the past year... I have carried this around with pride. I have won only one other championship in my career, and that was back when I was 17, so you can only imagine what this championship means to me and how hard it is for me to come to terms with relinquishing it. But as per the rules, now that I am heading to either Monday or Friday nights, I can't bring this with me. My only hope is that whoever holds this championship after me, looks after it because I truly believe that it was this title that put me on the map, and the title that I can look back on and say that is where it all began. To finalise, I just want to say what a pleasure it's been wrestling in front of you all for the past 3 years. I had wrestled in front of some mental crowds in my time, but you guys are next level. I promise you whatever show I end up on, you've only seen only a little of what I can do, and whoever steps in my way first, will know I'm not no rookie anymore. I'm Josh Richards and I am here to stay.

Josh took a moment to soak in the crowd's reaction, then laid down his championship in the centre of the ring. He then did his last wave to the NXT Universe and then went backstage to say goodbye to all of his friends that he had made including The Game himself who promised:

Triple H: I promise you kid when you land on the main roster next week, I will make sure the creative team look after you. Because you know what I see? You remember when Evolution was formed? I see a lot a young Randy Orton in you, and I have spoken to Randy himself and he sees the same thing. You're gonna do big things on the main roster kid, I even arranged a surprise for you for your debut, I know you like having a manager so I've arranged for someone to be your manager who has recently stepped back from wrestling and will introduce you.

At this point Josh's mind was racing, there was a few names that were swirling around his head; Paige was one of them because of the WAW and NXT connection, Alexa Bliss as she hadn't wrestled in a year after a series of concussions, Chris Jericho who was getting on in age. Maybe even The Game or maybe even Ric Flair?! For the rest of the week Josh kept thinking who it would be and spent most of his time practicing how he would greet his new manager and keeping one eye on his phone too. Monday night soon came around and Josh was told to attend as all the NXT locker room was to be sat in one room, whilst the Raw and Smackdown locker rooms were sitting in the others. One by one the Raw and Smackdown stars were traded, but now came the moment everyone had been anticipating. The NXT call ups, and more specifically the destination of the 'Superkid' as Josh was now known. Oddly, Alexa Bliss' segment a Moment of Bliss was next to air, and this was eerily similar to when Chris Jericho was the man to introduce John Cena to Monday Night Raw in 2005. Alexa began by welcoming everyone to the NXT part of the draft, and mentioned how the NXT call ups are some of the hardest to judge because everyone is so talented, but she went on to say:

Alexa: In amongst the goldmine of talent in NXT, there are a few that stand out above the rest, and I have been informed tonight that the number 1 NXT draft pick for Monday Night Raw and the number 1 NXT draft overall, will be under my supervision. This superstar has spent the last few years wowing the NXT universe and has already been a superstar outside of the WWE. Even from a young age, this superstar was destined for greatness and has caught the eye of many wrestling legends. So tonight, here on a Moment of Bliss, it is my honour to introduce Josh Richards.

As soon as Josh's name was mentioned, the entirety of the NXT locker room erupted into cheers as he would now be under the management of Alexa Bliss and be a part of Monday Night Raw. Josh took a moment to soak everything in, before making his way to the ring. As he walked down the ramp, he could hear the crowd chanting 'You deserve it' and he could see Alexa smiling at him from the ring. Josh had been and still is a massive Alexa Bliss fan, so be so close to someone he already admired and loved greatly was almost overwhelming. When he climbed into the ring, he greeted Alexa like a proper gentleman and took his seat. It was a while before Alexa could speak again as the crowd were hyped to see one of their favourites on the main roster. But eventually Alexa was able to speak:

Alexa: Wow I never realised just how popular you are around here. Now Josh I am well aware of what you have achieved already here in WWE, you were one of very few people to ever beat Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era, and you held the North American Championship for almost a year. That says to me that you are well adjusted to life here in WWE, but tell me who do you want to put on notice first?

Josh: Well first of all allow me to say what an honour it is to be sitting alongside the Goddess of WWE. I have been a big fan of your work for years, and kind of dreaming that I would get to meet you in person one day. But in answer to your question-

Before Josh could finish, he was interrupted by The Miz and John Morrison who weren't impressed with how much attention had been placed on Josh throughout the whole show. Earlier during the Raw and Smackdown picks, Josh's name was chanted very loudly almost to the point where Josh was drafted early. This irked Miz and Morrison who decided to make their frustrations known:

The Miz: This is who these idiots have been chanting for the whole night? This guy? Alexa I thought you were a woman of class, who only spoke and gave time to the most elite of superstars; not unproven rookies who cant do anything for themselves. You kid. You-

Before Miz could say anything else, Josh stood up and got in Miz's face and told him sternly:

Josh: First of all, you arrived unannounced on Alexa's show, second what you just said says to me you don't watch NXT do you? Or your ears are so clogged with your own b.s that you didn't hear what Alexa just said during my introduction. And you...

Josh turned his attention to Morrison who had history with Josh stemming from Lucha Underground:

Josh: You and I have crossed paths before and looked how it ended before; and now that I'm here in WWE, you cross mine and Alexa's path, I'll make sure to end the job I should've ended years ago. Now Alexa if you would.

As Josh went to sit down though, he was attacked by Miz who hit Josh with his microphone and assaulted the young superstar. Alexa couldn't do much but try and encourage Josh to get back to his feet, and after a little bit more of Miz and Morrison beating Josh down, Josh rose to his feet and began to fight back. He first threw Morrison out of the ring and looked down at Miz who was now on his own. He crawled back into the corner and looked to be out of ideas. But Morrison found his way back into the ring and was about to land an attack on Josh, but Alexa saw it coming and smacked Morrison with a kendo stick and that was enough for Josh to lay out Miz and hit the Frog Splash for the first time on the main roster. Miz and Morrison retreated and scurried up the ramp. Josh looked down at the two battered and bruised superstars and said:

Josh: Who's the rookie now?!

Backstage after everything had cooled down, Josh had a chance to chat without the cameras on them. Josh was still a little starstruck, and he was starting blush too:

Josh: I cannot begin to tell you how much of an honour it was for me to do that alongside you, as I said out there I am a massive fan of yours so to be out there with you was incredible. Sorry about your show falling apart like that.

Alexa: Aw you are just too sweet., I have to say when Hunter first told me that he wanted me to work with you when you got promoted, I was a little surprised too. I will admit I hadn't seen much of your work outside of NXT, but when I watched your matches in NXT, I was more than ready. I have to say you've got the right look. A look that I like.

Josh: Thank you Miss-

Alexa: Josh, please call me just call me Lexi. We're friends now, not colleagues. Next week, we'll get proper revenge on Miz and Morrison, but in the meantime I do need a ride home.

Josh offered his hand but instead, Alexa linked her arm with Josh's, and he led Alexa to his car, and Josh filled Alexa in on the history he had with Morrison.
