'You ready for a day Amsterdam?' The girl says in her phone. Her best friend agrees. 'Good I'm already on my way anyway. 50 Minutes until I reach central station.' She hangs up and stared out of the window with a smile on her face. Her name is Hannah. Hannah lives in the east of the Netherlands. She hates everything about her country except Amsterdam. She wished she would live there one day but her parents somehow chose to live in a dump no one even know the name of. She is 19 and never had a boyfriend. She was a very sweet and caring person but somehow she never had a boyfriend. She was jealous of the people that did have one though. She wanted the same but at the same time she didn't want to rush anything. So she waited. Anyway now she's on her way to Amsterdam. Her happy place and her best friend Amber was coming her way. That was going to be a day of laughter and shopping. Exactly the thing she needed.
Babe I can't make it in time. Go drink some coffee I'll see you there. Xxx
Of course... Amber and being on time. That would be a first. They didn't even need to say the name of the place. They both knew exactly where it was. In the center of Amsterdam somewhere tucked away between the stores. It was a dark but cozy café and they had the best coffee even. Yes even better than Starbucks. Not many people knew about this place and it was good that way. Hannah orders a cup of coffee and sits down at their table. For some strange reason it has never been occupied whenever Hannah walked in here.
Hannah kept checking her phone but Amber kept her waiting. This was taking longer than usual. Usually Hannah would order, sit down and take a first sip and then Amber would storm in for a hug. It's been five minutes already. Hannah's getting impatient. Hurry up, she thinks. She looks around the café. It has more people than usual.
An old man she has seen before. He was drinking a cup of coffee and reading some old newspaper. It must have been at least a week old since it was about a fire in some church that happened over a week ago.
She sees a man and a woman who seemed to be having a date. She's laughing about his stupid jokes. This probably isn't their first date since they're pretty comfortable around each other. They're actually really cute together. Ugh Hannah sighs. Then she sees a dark haired guy together with a bald guy. They're speaking a funny language. Hannah wonders where they're from and her thoughts drift away.
HANNAH!! Everyone looks over to the door where Amber's standing in a short dress. What else is new with that kid. Amber is a pretty girl with beautiful straight hair and endless legs. And she knew exactly how to work her body and how to dress herself. She storms towards Hannah and they hug.
The barista remembers them now because this is how they usually greets and serves Amber her coffee. Amber nods thankfully and takes a little sip. It doesn't take very long before the girls are chitchatting about everything and nothing. Hannah can't help but look over to the dark haired boy. He's wearing a tight shirt that shows off his toned body. He has big beautiful arms and on one of them he has a tattoo. Something about art and freedom. She couldn't figure it out. It didn't take long before Amber caught her eye and stared at the same boy.
'Wow what a hottie...' Amber exclaimed.
Hannah directly got a little disappointed. Every time they agreed on a boy he always ended up talking and flirting with Amber. Oh well.
'Toilet time! Watch my purse cause we seriously need to shop in a bit!' And Hannah walks off towards the bathroom. She looks at herself in the mirror. She's such an insecure girl while she definitely doesn't have to be because she is beautiful.
You know those girls that go out without any make up on and look beautiful? Hannah would be that girl except the lack of confidence. But she'll get there. At least that's what she has been telling herself.
She walks back into the café's when her foot gets stuck in the woman's bag. You know the woman that was on a date with that guy? Anyway her foot got stuck. She fell face down on the ground. Her heel fell off and her hand hurt.
She sees a hand reaching out to help her. She allows it and grabs the hand and slowly gets up. She looks up into the most beautiful dark brown eyes she has ever seen. It's like she can see so incredibly far into them. She then realizes it's the dark haired boy she has been staring at.
Are you okay? He asks her with a cute accent.
Yeah I'm fine thank you. Hannah replies while putting on the fallen heel.
He walks on to the bathroom and I walk over to my seat. Nice dive! Amber says with a smile.
Oh shut up you! And let's go I got a party coming up and I need a dress that won't make me look like a pig! She says to Amber. You and looking like a pig? You're like 50 kilo's. Please tell me you aren't dieting again. You'll end up with an eating disorder! Amber says worried. I'll be fine now let's go! Hannah says while sipping her cup until it's empty.
They walk through the streets and eventually they find the perfect dress for Hannah. You look absolutely gorgeous! Amber screams through the entire store. Hannah is feeling embarrassed and quickly changes into her own clothes. She walks to the cash register and pays. Dinner? Amber nods. They walk into a nice looking restaurant. After they ordered their food Amber changed the subject.
So.... You've seen him up close. How was he? Just as jum as from where we were sitting? She asks. I have no idea what you're talking about! Hannah says innocently. Amber gives her a look and Hannah spills. She can't help it. When Amber puts on the look she'll eventually tell. The longest she resisted the look was about 10 minutes. This time was no exception.
Well he had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. I mean I felt like I could stare into them for miles. They we're so pure. At first I didn't even know it was him. I was kind of hypnotized. Than when I did realize I had to get my shit together. He has a funny accent. I think he's from somewhere up north like the Scandinavian countries. I don't know. There's nothing more to know.
Amber nods happy. She did it again. She wanted him and eventually she will get him. That's all she had been thinking. Sure he helped out Hannah but Hannah had no idea how to react to this stuff. Amber was a professional in flirting and she would've been able to at least get a number from him. Too bad they won't see him again.
