Hoth - 3ABY
Echo BaseLeia Organa threw herself onto her bed as soon as she was safe inside her quarters after having slammed the door behind her. She then proceeded to scream into her pillow.
Urrr! Han Solo had to be the most annoying man she had ever met!
He had a way of pushing her buttons and getting a strong reaction out of her that no one else had. So perhaps she was being a bit harsh on him in this particular instance but that still didn't excuse the way he normally acted.
He was always walking around claiming he had loyalty to no one but himself. He'd said from the beginning he wasn't in this for the cause but for the money. He said multiple times that one day he'd have to leave in order to pay off his debt to Jabba the Hutt and he'd made no mention of what he was going to do after.
Perhaps Leia wouldn't be so upset and frustrated over it if it wasn't for the fact that Leia knew there was more to Han than that.
Sure Han 'claimed' that his only loyalty was to himself but actions speak louder than words he had put his life on the line multiple times for Chewie, Luke and herself. Sure Han said he wasn't around for the cause and only for the money but Leia knew thanks to General Rieekan that Han hardly ever got paid for his work and when he did it was certainly for a lot less than what he had earned or deserved. Plus Han didn't hide the fact that he hated the Empire just as much as everyone else in the Alliance. Not to mention that Han went above and beyond to help them and didn't just stick to what he was contracted to do. He'd helped with military and other operations, been her pilot multiple times and was currently helping them set up their new base.
He did all these things that proved to Leia that in his heart Han Solo was a loyal and kind man yet he still walked about pretending to be the same selfish smuggler she first mistook him as.
It was just so dam frustrating!
Perhaps this one time however she could admit, to herself at least, that she might have been a bit hard on him.
Han had been talking to some woman that Leia didn't know the name of, she just knew it was one of the pilots who was scheduled to help Han on his next supply run, and it was very obvious that the woman was flirting with Han. Leia, in her not quite rational mind, was also convinced that Han was flirting back.
She had stormed up to them and dragged Han off to the side before she proceeded to scream at him.
Leia accused him of being inappropriate and unprofessional. She also berated him for 'making a move' on one of the Alliance pilots.
Han had responded with equally loud screaming. Replying that he hadn't been flirting with the woman or 'making moves on her'. He then proceeded to accuse Leia of being jealous.
Their argument continued for what felt like hours and then ended the way a lot of their arguments ended. With them stomping off in opposite directions.
Leia hated fighting with Han. Not their usual back and forth banter or their bickering or their playful fight. Real proper ugly fighting. It didn't happen as often as everyone on base seemed to think it did but it had still happened a few times.
She especially hated fights like theses.
Leia especially hated this specific fight as she'd know as soon as she'd engaged in it that she was the one in the wrong. She had acted on a purely negative emotion.
Han had been right. She was jealous.
And she hated that. Leia also knew she had no right to feel that way. She knew she had no right to be jealous of that woman when Han had no more commitment to Leia than he did to the rebellion. She also knew that she had no right to be angry at Han even if he was flirting with that woman (which looking back Leia didn't actually think he was) not when she took every opportunity to try and convince him she didn't have feelings for him.
