Her Mission

Chapter 1: The Start of something new

Hey there, I'm Cami, and when my mum decided to use me to model to show off her new clothing line, surprisingly, the company she was showing me off to hired ME instead! How did that happen? My mother had always wanted to be a designer, you could even say that it had been her life long dream. So much so that she works day and night to try and make beautiful clothes, forgetting that she had three daughters to raise, all by herself, sometimes we starved, either because she forgot to feed us, or she just didn't have anymore for food. I had to learn to cook for my sisters, I would take whatever we had from the fridge, or stuff growing in our backyard, and would turn it into something edible for us.

My mum would always tell us how one day her designs would be noticed and we wouldn't have to suffer any longer, and of course, we all believed her. Which was why, when she finally finished her first collection and she got a call from an international agency, we were all so excited, we all jumped for joy and we supported our mum all the way! I was the tallest out of my sisters, and my mum's creations fit me the best. So to try and help, I spent weeks and weeks learning how to do make-up, and I learned how to walk the run-way, all from YouTube videos! 

On the day that she was supposed to pre-view her designs to the company I was shaking in my boots, I wanted it to be perfect so badly because i wanted my mum to find success so we would be able to finally live a carefree life, and so my sisters would never have to worry about their tuition or ever going hungry. I did the very best I could, I managed to sell all of my mum's garments to the panel that watched us and by the end, it was absolute total silence and then, out of nowhere, everyone erupted in applause.

However when my mum stepped up to the stage, the agency CEO stopped her in her tracks. Actually, we're not interested in your designs, but we are impressed with your model, very impressed. No matter how horrible the clothes were,
