6) Shadows

*Shino's pov*

"A-Artemis." The creature said.

This was my first time seeing a creature, so this was extremely cool for me but when I looked at Artemis's leg it was clearly bent wrong.

"Dad?" I asked

"Venus is coming but I believe the best choice is the take Artemis to the castle to avoid any more conflict." Dad said as Flex came back with Venus.

"Oh child. I could have helped you out you know." Venus said and Artemis looked down.

"I'm sorry." They said and Venus sighed.

"You knew of him?" Dad asked

"Yes him and his friend that was with him but is most likely back in the forest, ventured close to my clinic." Venus said

"We are having a conversation about that." Dad said as some guards came with a carriage.

"Be careful with the child, do not hurt him more then he is alright, also if anyone sees another creature most likely an adult one. Tell them to go to the castle they will find what they want there." Dad said as Artemis was picked up gently and put in the carriage.

Venus got into the carriage as well with her medical kit and I followed after her and Kol got in before reaching over and closed the door and got on the back seat and my dad got in the front.

I looked at Venus as she worked with taking off the mask and the cloak that both are torn up so not of use anymore. She then felt both of Artemis's legs and he yelped when she touched I'm going to assume broken spot.

She position her hands with a bandage and then made a quick movement and Artemis yelled and Venus wrapped up his leg very quickly and tightly.

When we got to the castle gates Artemis had a cast on and he was half asleep. His body laid on the seats and his head on Venus's lap as she rubbed circles on his back.

"So this is a creature?" I asked

"Yes this is a creature child but I'm assuming your asking because this is your first time seeing one. Am I correct?" Venus said

I looked at Kol and then at dad who was sitting next to me.

"I mean ya. This would definitely be my first time seeing a creature." I said

"Mine as well, or at least physically. I've only ever seen pictures of creatures and heard stories of the war against them from my parents." Kol said

"You got to hear stories from the war?" Artemis said opening his eyes a bit more

"Ya I did." Kol said

"The only thing I was told was the humans aren't the best people and to not cause trouble with them but then I learned about how there was a war but I was never told anything beside that Ronin and someone else named Angelo made a treaty and stopped it years ago." Artemis said closing an eye

"Do you know what became of Ronin?" My dad asked listening in on our conversation.

"You mean adoptive dad? He sleeps a lot but he makes sure the village towns are ok." Artemis said clearly getting tried

"I see so he's still alive. That's good to know." Dad said

"Database do you think he's the leader?" Kol asked

"From what I can piece together, I will most likely be able to resolving this nicely unless Ronin changed for the worst but I very much doubt that especially if Artemis doesn't know a single thing about the war except that it existed and now it's not happening." Dad said and I looked at Artemis who was fully asleep now

"Venus while we are traveling I have a question for you." Dad said

"If it's in regards of why I knew that there was creature children in the town then reason I knew what they were is personal." Venus said with a slight stern tone.

"Alright, but I do expect an explanation at some point. It's for the safety of the kingdom." Dad said and I looked back at Venus who just brushed her hand through Artemis's hair.

Not exactly how I wanted to meet one of these guys but still cool to see.

*Ronin's pov*

I jumped up on the wall and looked down at the city. I glared at everything and everyone and I sniffed the and recognized a scent.

Avian.

I jumped down and jumped roofs and got to the building that Avian was at. He didn't have his wings which means he must have hid them.

"Avian what are you doing here?" I asked and he jumped and quickly turned to me.

"Ronin...hi." he said nervously

"What are you doing here." I asked again and Avian sighed.

"Can we discuss this more later it's a long topic." Avian said and I sighed pinching my nose brim.

"Ok besides that Rikku and Artemis both came here and Rikku made it back but from what I can tell Artemis might be in some danger unless it got resolved in which I have someone I need to talk to to see what happened." I said and Avian's eyes widened.

"Wait Rikku and Artemis the kids in the that zone?" Avian asked

"Yes them. Now let's go to the castle I don't care if I have to threaten someone to get there." I said and Avian followed me.

"Alright. Let's go." Avian said as he let his wings be revealed.

I dashed twords the castle jumping roofs as Avian tried to keep up with me from the air.

I swear if Artemis is harmed they are going to have to repay us in such a heavy matter.
