March 15
6:00 PM
I ran for the exit as the gryphon chased me.
I rubbed the sweat on my forehead away and I ran as quickly to the door, which leads to a thousand stairs. I was panting hard and I can hear my own heartbeat.
The gryphon was now catching up on me and it began to ascent to the air, gaining more speed as the altitude increases.
I was meters away from the exit. If I could make it, I could misdirect the gryphon and let it fall on the stairs.
I make it my plan.
The gryphon was now flying above me, looking like it's waiting for the opportunity to land on me and squash me like a bug.
Does all monsters do? I mean, I've been fighting them off since I was a kid! So, you could say I had a lot of experience.
By the way, I'm Red Brent. 15, and seconds away to being shish- kebabbed by a gryphon 20X my size.
The exit was now infront of me. I quickly used the metal door to lock the gryphon inside.
Then I was pushed forward by the force of the gryphon at the metal door.
I pressed my back against the metal door, attempting to keep it from dislocating.
The thousand stair cases to hell was infront of me.
Literally.
Below these staircases is a dark and searing abyss.
I was waiting. Waiting for the gryphon to come headbutting the door out of it's place.
The gryphon banged once, and I again was sent off balanced. But I managed to stand firm.
The gryphon banged again, and again, and again.
Right now, it might be thinking:
"Fourth for the charm."
I took it.
At the last minute, I swerved myself to the right as the gryphon headbutted its way out and then descend to the abyss.
They say, once you see, peek, or even glance at the abyss, you won't be able to take your eyes off it. You'll be tempted to go down and explore it's nothingness.
Which is why the gryphon didn't fly itself up. It fell head first.
Somewhere down the abyss, the gryphon screamed in outrage. It was almost unaudible, but I managed to hear it.
That was one of my talents. I don't know why, but I can always sense danger even if I'm kilometers away from it.
It helped me sense the gryphon that almost took my head as its prize.
But, nope. I guess I was a tincy bit quicker than it. Which was a very nice advantage according to its size.
"Whew," I sighed in relief, "glad that was over."
I took out the thing that put me here in the first place: a piece of the Teleportation stone.
It was a perfect square. In the upper left corner, you can see 1/4 of a circle. It was carvd deeply and hardly. As hard as a Turtoise's shell.
"Better call the alliance." I took out the walkie-talkie that Sir Nicolas- the leader of the whole alliance- gave me. I put it infront of my mouth. "Mission accomplished."
"Very good, Red." I could hear him laugh in victory, "I'm sending a chopper there."
"Awesome." I hung up and went inside the room I was in before.
