My eyes began to water as I looked at the sight before me.
Right before me was my girlfriend on one knee with a nervous smile and a ring in hand.
"S-so" she stuttered shyly looking up into my eyes "what do you say?"
"I- I" I struggled to speak.
I'm usually the confident and composed one but right now, seeing her like this has got my words stuck in my throat.
"Please make your decision quick" she mumbled with a chuckle "my knee is starting to hurt"
She winced a little and grinned at me.
After a few seconds of opening and closing my mouth, I finally mustered the courage to say something.
"Yes" I blurted out quieter than I had hoped but seeing from the breath of relief that she had just taken, I'm sure she heard it.
She she muttered a "yes" as she slowly placed the ring on my finger and got up to face me.
I was a bit taller than her so she grabbed the back of my neck and pulled my head closer to hers.
Our lips were merely millimeters away from touching but she didn't allow me the satisfaction.
"Thank you" she whispered lowly.
"I love you" she said again before closing the gap between our lips.
After a while we finally pulled back and stared into each other's eyes.
"I love you too" I muttered shyly before giving her a peck on her lips
She giggled slightly before ruffling my hair playfully.
"I know you do" she said before grinning playfully
