It was a sunday evening and as usual everybody was getting ready for another school week. I was on the reading table studying for the physics test we had the next day at school. I just got off the phone with Taylor to remind her of the test we had because she can be forgetful at times and will not study for the test. It's not like it has not happen before.
My Sister was also at the table too but she wasn't studying, she was listening to music which was so annoying. The annoying part about that was that the music was loud and she wasn't with head phones. I was begining to think she was being used by the devil to make my evening go bad because if that was the case, she was succeeding. I muttered a word of prayer and turned towards my brother who was also at the table but he seemed unperturbed. He was so focused on his mathematics textbook. That boy and maths are like peas in a pod. I rolled my eyes and got back to my books.
I stared hard at my physics text book for the umpteenth time trying so hard to concentration but it was futile. With the loud music playing and my sister's loud voice singing along how could anyone concentrate. I turned to my brother but he was so engrossed in what he was doing. How can anyone concentrate with this noise I wondered as I turned a hard glare at my sister.
“What's with the look?" She asked rolling her eyes at me.
“Turn down that music" I said looking at her really expecting her to turn the music down but instead..
“No I won't. If you are really reading you won't let the sound of my music distract you" she said looking at me straight in the eye as she continued to sing along with Sia.
“I'll be with you from dusk till dawn..."I couldn't take it anymore. I sighed deeply as I stood up from the table
“I can't take it anymore. Not cool Didi not cool" It was my Brother. Turns out he was not really concentrating as I thought. As soon as my brother left the table. I turned to follow suit but then I was halted in my tracks by my sister. She brought out her pen and pulled a broom stick out of it.
“What's that?" I asked with curiosity because I just couldn't understand how a sane person would keep a broomstick in their pen.
“Oh! Nothing important just a little something I use to tickle people in my class" my sister replied putting the stick back in her pen.
“Really? Are you serious right now?" I said with wide eyes.
Who uses a stick to tickle someone? Her classmates must be really dumb if that tickles them.
I know my sister is weird and all but I never expected it to get to this level. She needs help.
Immediately, I packed the rest of my books from the table and fled to the calmness of my room to avoid contacting her weirdness.~~~~~~~~
“Oh My God, that movie was great" Wendy squealed hugging herself tightly.
It was Monday after school and the girls gathered at my house and we decided to watch a movie.
I decided to put “Namaste Wahalla" a Nigerian-Indian themed movie. I wanted to get their opinion about the movie because I really didn't enjoy the movie. It was just too childish especially towards the ending.“Great? Really?" I asked staring at her with disbelief
“Yeah. Great"Wendy replied looking at me curiously. “What's wrong with the movie" She added.
“Nothing. The movie was great" I replied sarcastically looking away.
My friends loved watching romantic movies and no matter how I try to get them to watch a horror movie with me they just wouldn't.
“I so much love the way they kissed towards the end" Taylor said grinning so wide earning an eye roll from me.“Yeah. That was like my favorite part" Kim said mirroring her grin.
“I guess it's only Nora that didn't enjoy the the movie. What's wrong?" Wendy asked eyeing me suspiciously.
“What?" I asked looking up to find all of them looking at me.
“Is it a boy? Who is he?" Wendy asked wiggling her brows at me.
“As if" I said getting up from the floor to stretch my legs, they were really cramped from my position on the floor.
“It's already getting late. Let's try and look into that homework. At least let's not waste the rest of the day" I suggested reaching into my school bag to retrieve my Chemistry notebook.
The girls all nodded following same.
We finished the homework quickly then the girls had to go home. That night as I slept I dreamt of Indian Dancers dressed in Nigerian attire.
