Chapter 2

Things seemed to go in slow motion. The ground was shaking, the water receding. This could not have been a normal tsunami. This was something different, something bigger. Hearing the sirens blare snapped me out of my thoughts as I drove home, speeding the whole way. It was hard trying to drive while the ground was practically having a heart attack. Small cracks started to appear on the ground as one of my tires got stuck in one, causing it to flip. Luckily for me however the car landed back on the tires instead of the roof. But what was not lucky was my engine, which was currently smoking.

Carefully I got out of the car to try to make it to high ground. Just in case a tsunami was really coming. That however was a major challenge. Since one of my legs is currently unavailable. Plus using crutches on a ground that looks like it could tare open and swallow you was something intimidating. And with my luck, one of my crutches got stuck it a crack. Which caused me to fall, on my bad leg. The pain I felt as I landed on it caused me to let out a frustrating scream. But my scream was soon overlapped by something bigger, deeper, and something that sounded a whole lot scarier.

That something could be seen moving through the water as it slowly made its way to the shore. But when it got to the shore it disappeared. The waves also seemed to go completely still. The only thing that remained were the cracks in the ground. I slowly picked myself off the ground and made my way back to my car. I opened the door to and proceeded to look for my phone. Luckily when I found it on the floor in the back seat it only had a couple small scratches. I opened my phone to see a couple missed calls from my mom. Calling her back, she started asking if I was okay. I told her I was fine and needed to be picked up. She called someone to come tow my car and came to pick me up.

While waiting for her to pick me up I heard whispering coming from the ocean. I searched the ocean surface to see if I could see anything. The whispering came and went, each time it sounded closer and closer. Getting a little spooked I got in my car to wait for my mom. Luckily, the car stopped smoking, but its sill did not work. Around twenty minutes later I got a text from my mom saying she would be here in about 8 minutes. I put my phone down and rested my head on the seat and rested my eyes. Until I heard the whispering again, but this time it sounded like it right in my backseat.

Opening my eyes with a slight jump I looked in the back seat. Only to see nothing there. I let out a soft chuckle as I thought I must be going insane. That was until I turned around and saw what was looking at me through my review mirror. Bright glowing eyes was all I could see staring at me. No head, no body. Just those glowing eyes. Chills went down my body as my mind slowly drifted black and my eyes drifted to the back of my head...

{The creature looked at the little human passed out in the backseat of one of the moving machines humans used. The Outer God Ghroth had woken the creature from his slumber, which the creature was not pleased. But that is what Ghroth was known for. Drifting through space and waking up other Old Ones and Outer Gods. Though if he came across a planet that had no God or Deity he destroyed it. As he got close to the planet all kinds of natural disasters would occur. The humans are lucky I was here. Or they would have all perished in gruesome ways last night.

Last night around midnight human time Ghroth got close to the planet to annoyingly wake me up. Usually when he would wake an Old one or Outer God he would be farther back. To see the damage that being would do to the planet. That is if the being resided there wanted to the destroy the planet. However last night he sensed my mate. One power Ghroth can do that some seem to forget, is a basic memory wipe. He can make anything that happened seem like a dream. Which is what he did to my mate last night.

Now dear human reading this through your powered electronic screen. You are wondering how he knew that little human was my mate. Well simple answer, only Old Ones and Outer Gods can sense others mates. And mates to us are a serious matter. The punishments for killing ones mate is far worse than that of death. Which is why last night, he got far closer than he should have. Honestly, he should not have woken me up at all. I would have sensed my mate the second they turned eighteen. But no, no, that blasted jerk had to wake me a whole two-weeks before my cute little human turned eighteen. Which is torture for me cause wants you find your mate. They well...mate.

And that brings us to the night Ghroth brought my mate to where I was awakening. Which can I say was quite dangerous? Well for a human. Humans are very fragile creatures. The most fragile in this whole galaxy. But anyway, wants I got a good look at my stunning mate I marked him. Physically that is. That way I can see and sense wherever he is. Plus, he can telepathically talk to me. Though when I mark him internally, that will be a whole different story.

Now that brings us to where we are now. Me watching my human sleep. You are reading this tale. And the writer I am giving the privilege to tell this beautiful tale of me and my mate. But anyway, let us do move on. Besides, I can tell some other entity is making its way towards this planet. And if it does so pose a threat, then I will take my mate back to my home. Rlyeh. Some think that it is simply just a city I reside in. Well, how wrong they are. Rlyeh is a whole other realm, which is where I am from. As to how I got on Earthwell let us just say they both are parallel to each other. Besides, you humans wouldnt be able to understand. But I will let the little typey type human get back to explaining Our touching, sexy, adventurous, thrilling, and most impor-}

I woke up to what sounded like a grumble coming from nowhere. I gently shook my head as I saw my moms car coming over the horizon.

Finally, I can go home.
