"Fuck college." Emmett groaned as he forcefully shut the trunk of his outdated sedan.
Emmett Sawyer is a tall and thin blonde haired, brown eyed young man. He grew up in a small town that few residents ever escaped from. Emmett knew attending a university in a neighboring state was his only chance to live a life other than working at his parents' coffee shop.
Emmett attended three years of university on a scholarship that required him to maintain a high GPA. This should have been manageable for the student who had graduated at the top of his class, but university proved to be a bigger challenge than Emmett was prepared for. The curriculum was very different compared to what he, and his graduating class of forty students, had been through. Emmett struggled through three years of university, but was unable to meet the requirements of his scholarship and dropped out after the first semester of his fourth year.
Feeling defeated, Emmett begins the long drive to his hometown of Basset. His parents, Ann and Steven Sawyer, are eagerly awaiting their son's return.
