ONE MORE CHANCE: Chapter 10

"Yes I did and I will do it again if you don't watch that hole you call a mouth" Robert lamented.

Allison walked out of the room, took her car keys, carried her daughter in a cot, her luggage and came back downstairs.

"It's very obvious you don't want me in your life anymore. When you are ready to change, you know where to find me" she said as she dragged her bag down towards the exit.

*Sob sob sob* Allison cried to her mother

"What happened!" Mrs. Jones asked in a worried tone

She explained all that had occured between her and Robert.

Weeks passed with still no word from Robert, he never called, he didn't care and he couldn't even ask about his child. Allison had lost hope and had decided not to care about him anymore

Mrs. Jones decide to go to the George's house. Refreshments were served and she immediately started the conversation about Robert's misbehavior.

Mr George was livid when he heard what Robert had done. Mrs. George didn't even show any concern. She seemed pleased with the present happenings. Mrs. Jones left his house after being assured that they would handle they case.

Mr. George immediately phoned his son to see him without failure.

When Mrs. Jones got home, she briefed her daughter on the outcome of the situation and told her everything will be alright.

*A week later*

Mr. George came to the Jones' residence. He came with Robert and Mrs. George looked like she was being dragged there because she did not look happy at all.

"My sincere apologies to you Allison for the behavior of Robert. " Mr George began

"I called this meeting for us to settle our differences and come back to be one good family again."

"So, my dear please find it in your heart to forgive him" he said as he addressed Allison.

" I will think about it." She said without a smile

A month passed and Allison had finally made up her mind and was not going to make another mistake twice.

*Flashback*

Allison's POV:

I walked into a restaurant just to clear my head on what had been transpiring lately. Roberts sudden abstinence.
I walked towards the bar and ordered a hamburger and chips with soda.
I picked up my plate and was heading toward my seat when the plate slipped from my hand and dropped.

All the food on the floor. The waiter saw it and went ahead to clean up the mess. A man in his early 30's then approached me and said he would pay for the meal. He paid and bought me a new one. I felt something I hadn't felt in years. I sat with him at his table and we talked and talked.

His phone beeped
"I'm sorry I have to go back to work. I'm just on a 30 minutes break" he said looking up from the beeping phone.

" Ooh, so nice to meet you." I said to him

" And you too. I enjoyed this lunch"

"Me too" I said smiling

He stood up and headed for the door. He waved me and I waved back. He drove his car out of the parking lot and fast off he went.

I looked closer towards the car opposite where I parked my car. I saw Ben, my husband's P. A who was wearing black sun glasses just to hide his face but I saw him. He was spying.

*Flashback ends*

She reminisced over those thoughts and knew that had to be reason Robert found out. She met the man coincidentally on regular intervals because she went there with her friends just to chat and relax.

She was having a divorce!. She informed her lawyer to start making the preparations for the divorce statement.

She also informed the George's family on her proceedings and they couldn't change her mind anymore. They informed Robert that be would have to sign the divorce statement and pay her alimony.

They had agreed to settle in court the next 2 weeks but Robert did not show up. The court gave him 7 days more for the next court meeting but he still didn't show up and gave a sickness as an escuse.

Robert's lawyer went to negotiate with Allison's attorney concerning the alimony. They negotiated on her behalf and came to a compromise.

They decided to meet in the next 3 days and surprisingly Robert was present. They came to a compromise of $800,000 and he signed the divorce statement and so did Allison.

Allison was blissful and she took her mother, Jane, Helen, Mariam and Lilian out.

"To freedom! Allison voiced out"

"To freedom!" they all echoed

*clink clink* they cheered with their cups of wine.

It was trending on the internet news that their divorce was successful and questions kept coming from the press

Why did you divorce?
What will happen to Jane?
Do you have plans for another marriage?

Robert as the devil that she described him as, went on to tell the press that Allison stole money from his company and he showed a video of her fucking with his opponent and described her as a cheat and he brought so much shame to her. Those that were her fans on social media started mocking her and insulting her.

Narrator's POV: That video was actually a video of someone else who Robert paid to have that scene while she wore a green mask, which enabled Robert's tech guy to put Allison's face on the mask.
