We both were seating at a two-person table. We were facing each other, which was awkward.
"I love young couples..." The waiter said. "Anyways, what can I get you two cuties tonight?" She asked.
She looked to be about 30-something. I just looked at Brooklyn. He smiled at me, and looked back down at his menu. I guess if he wanted to go along with it... Then I will too.
"I'll take, a steak, with a lemonade, please." Brooklyn said.
"Um, I'll have a Cesar salad, with a water. Please." I said.
"Alright, your stuff should be coming out soon." The waiter said, as she smiled at both of us.
"You order such healthy foods." He said, shaking his head.
"What? That's really good food." I said.
"Wait. Are you a vegetarian?" He asked. He started to freak out, like he was upset.
"No. Why what's wrong with vegetarians?" I asked.
"Nothing's wrong with them... Just my comment about your salad would have been mean!" He said.
"You are mean." I joked.
He laughed.
"You loved me Mackenzie." He giggled.
I just rolled my eyes.
"Not a chance." I said.
"Not one chance at all. Not even like 1% love me?" He asked.
"Nope. Not a chance. 0%." I joked.
He frowned.
"Anyways. How's Michelle?" He asked.
"Fine... Why are you asking?" I asked, wondering why he was all of a sudden asking about my 17 year old, annoying sister.
"I just wanted to know. Like she is suppose to be going to college soon, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, she graduated early, but she is still looking for the right college." I said, as the waiter set our food and drinks in front of us.
"Now, I've always wondered... Does she have a boyfriend? Not that I care that much... No offense, just I made a bet with Romeo that she did, and I really don't want to be out $20." He smiled.
"Seriously? The kid who gave me $200 in the middle of the night out of his pajamas is worried about $20?" I asked, joking around.
"Money is money." He joked. "And anyways, Romeo doesn't need any money."
"Well to answer your question, she does have a boyfriend." I said.
"Ooh. Who is it?" He asked.
"Oh god. You sound like my brother!" I laughed. "And his name is Austin. He's my best friends older brother."
"Yikes. Is that a good, or bad thing?" He asked.
"Bad! It's weird!" I joked.
"How old is he?" Brooklyn asked.
"18." I answered.
"Cool." He said.
"Yeah, I guess." I responded. This was so boring.
"So are we dating?" Brooklyn asked.
Wow. Way to make this dinner more interesting.
"What? No!" I responded. Truthfully, I was caught off gaurd, but I didn't want Brooklyn to know. Even though my response made it pretty obvious.
"I think we are." He smirked.
"You never even asked me out!?" I responded.
"Mackenzie, Will you go out with me?" Brooklyn said.
I giggled. I had no idea what to do. He was staring at me.
"Sure." I laughed.
I didn't know what to say. Yes I liked Brooklyn, but did I really trust him?
