Numb from the chilly midnight temperature, your exposed legs fettered to a halt before the taller male. As much as you wished you could empathise with the crestfallen pout on his face, the voice in the depths of your head erupted into a victorious cheer.

"Is that the reason why you called me out here at—" You glanced at the glowing numbers printed across the screen of your phone, "11 at night? You know we have school tomorrow."

"She was probably referring to volleyball." You sighed, patting his arm in a superficial attempt to comfort him, "To be honest, that's understandable. You have been very busy recently because of Inter-High."
"And yet we still lost! I hate Ushiwaka."
"You still have the Spring Tournament."
