I notice that the boy whose seat was stolen by the burly man is unfamiliar to me. He is tall and scrawny and seemingly shy. I study him as he crosses the room, head down, looking for a new place to sit. Unfortunately he does not find a vacant chair and crouches in the corner of the room, hugging his knees to his chest.

He's cute. Very cute. His long black hair is concealed by a reddish beanie. Judging by the breakage and untamed curls, I'd imagine they made him shower before joining the rest of us and denied him a flat iron.

Boiling up in my stomach, I feel the urge to offer him my seat. However, knowing the selfish ways of everyone in this wretched place, someone would get to it as soon as I stood up. Being so, after a long mental battle of whether to maintain my chair or sacrifice it to sit with him, I decided to take a trip to the corner where he was sitting.

Without saying a word, I gently perched myself next to him. He did nothing but stare up at me, confused. God, did he have gorgeous eyes. The icy blue tint to them gave my stomach butterflies. Trying to be as little awkward as possible, I muttered a small "hi" and gave a shy grin. He continued to stare blankly at me, but his eyes lightened a bit.

After a few moments he rested his head face down on his knees and gave a small sigh. To be honest, I was mildly disappointed. I liked this kid. Actually, I liked him a lot.

It became quite obvious, after a few minutes, that he wasn't going to acknowledge me anytime soon. That said, I decided to give the boy some space. If there was any chance of gaining his trust and friendship, it certainly wasn't going to be by making him talk to me.

I glanced back at him swiftly as I started to walk away. God, he was gorgeous.
