"There, all done." Yukari smiled and moved away from the standing mirror.

Hinari looked at herself through the mirror, wearing a red hakama and a white kosode that belonged to her late mother. Her hair was tied with red ribbon into a low ponytail.

"You look really pretty, but I don't think you can wear it during winter like this, Hinari.." She smiled wryly, she could see light wrinkles forming whenever her dearest aunt smiles.

"It's fine.. I can wear hanten.." she said, smiling with a slight blush dusted her cheeks, showing her how happy she is at the moment

Yukari widened her eyes slightly and softened her expression soon after, "I understand, I'll go and get the hanten for you.. please wait here for a while."

"Um.." she nodded and heard a whimpering noise and glanced at her aunt who was about to exit the room.

Once she left, Hinari waited for five minutes before sliding the door open as she heard another whimpering from somewhere. Looking around, she walked through the empty corridor, walking past the shoji until she stopped in front of an old looking tree.

Another whimper could be heard, tilting her head to the side, she saw a black tail of what it seems to be a cat. Walking closer, she saw the dying black-white cat behind the tree and near the bushes. Feeling bad over its suffering, she crouched near it.

"The injuries were too severe.. did you crawl all the way here?.." she mutters, the injured cat's soft meowing somehow sparks sadness in her. She saw how much pain the cat is in and could predict that it won't last long.

What should I do.. she thought, furrowing her eyebrows as she looked around, I want to save this cat.. what should I do..

'Hold the cat..'

She gasped and looked around trying to see who just spoke but there wasn't anyone at the moment. "Is there anyone there?" She asked but no answer was heard.

Looking back at the cat that was no longer breathing, she furrowed her eyebrows and reached out to pat its head softly, "I'm sorry.." she murmured and got up, "I need to find aunt Yuka and ask her to help me bury you okay?.."

With that she left and a black-white cat with all-white eyes meowed softly, sitting with its tail wagging softly watching her back getting further away.
