VERONICA'S POV.
We were sitting in the class and Ms. Paige was teaching us As You Like It by Shakespear, the guy who ruined my life. I was just about to doze off when this particular dialogue caught my attention.
Orlando:
Who doth Time stay still withal?
Rosalind:
With lawyers in the vacation; for they sleep
between term and term, and then they
percieve not how Time moves.
(Translation: Time only moves slower and slower when you least want it to.)
I felt like I could relate to it so much. Weird isn't it? Now call me cheesy, but I felt like Rosalind waiting for her Orlando. Well, I eventually snapped back to reality when a not so neatly folded green chit fell on my lap. A crumpled, green chit indicated only one thing: A message from Tiffany.
Tiffany Kingston, one of my best friend. She had the brightest red locks I'd ever seen and a pair of pretty deep brown eyes. She was what every girl wanted to be; pretty, charming and confident with an overdose of sarcasm. She knew what to say every time. A big time socialite knowing half of the globe, and that is not an overstatement. You name it, she knows every person walking down the street. She was pretty popular, of course being around me has it's benefits. I'm just kidding, she was popular in her own unique way. That's enough of her, getting back to the chit...
Wondering how I know that the chit belonged to Tiffany? Well, I'll get back to that later. Actually, let me just put it straight out, its no biggie anyway. You see, only my friends and I can be lame enough to actually allot colours to each other with accordance to their favourite colour, just to, you know, recognize whose chit it was. Don't even ask. Okay so moving on, I unfolded the chit which said:
Party at my place at 7pm, be there at 4;)
I found myself grinning like an idiot and looking up to see Megan, Amanda and Tiffany exchanging glances with a huge grin plastered on their faces. The girls and I weren't one of the bitchy girls who were the number one topic for gossips, but we were the ones with a casual and friendly attitude.
Amanda Freeman, just like Tiffany, was one of my three best friends. Tiffany and Amanda shared the same amount of enthusiasm and humor except the fact that Amanda had a secret way to our funny bones because she always could make us laugh. Love that girl. Anyways she was a ginger head with a beautiful pair of green eyes with a hint of hazel. She was loved by everyone and gained a few admirers too. She had a great sense of humor and you can't help but adore her personality.
Megan Patrick was yet another one of my best friends. Completing our Fantastic 4, she stood out from the rest of us. She seemed pretty quiet and had everything well organized.
Keyword: Seemed.
She was pretty shy around new people, but around us? Not at all.
Besides her outstanding looks which consisted of her ever-shinning black layers accompanied with a similar eye colour as Tiffany. She was one of my oldest friends and knew me better than I know my own self. We argue on little things like who found a trigonometry answer first or who figured most of it. These little things represent who we are. She's caring and extremely hilarious and not to mention, very understanding.
Tiffany's parties were always the best: Loud music, massive house and plenty (And I do mean plenty) of hot guys and alcohol. It was the perfect recipe to the perfect party.
