A/N: Hey! This chapter took me a while, because I wasn't sure how exactly to write it. Well that's the result now :)
Danielle's pov:
Since I don't know where to go, I spent the night sleepless in the Muse. A few drinks, a bit of food and my cigarettes. Time to think about everything. I don't need more. Entertainment was not lacking either. Often the room was lit by singing from the same people as the last time. A man and an elderly woman. Wonderful voices. The waitress from the last time wasn't there. I'm pretty happy about that to be honest.
While I'm sipping on my alcoholic drink, I see the singers sitting at a table and make eye contact with one of them. The older woman smiles directly and waves me over. At first I asked myself if she meant me, but since no one else is here, who then? I look at the clock before I lift my body and walk over to them.
"Are you waiting for someone, darling? You've been here for a while." The woman asks in a clear voice, her fingers wrapped around her glass. "I guess... but I think she won't come." I mumble and take a seat across from them. "Baby, who would ditch you?" the lady continues and makes me grin, bashful.
"I'm Austin Sommers, nice to meet you. This is-" the women cuts him off to introduce herself. "Sarah Cunningham, but you can call me Belle." My eyes widen and I question myself if I did hear right. "Belle Noir, the real Belle Noir?." I ask and make the woman with the white hair laugh. "I- I love your books. Your writing style is so unique and inspiring." I tell her and I can't believe I'm sitting in front of this legend. "I'm also a writer, Danielle Bennet."
"The cold current, a best seller. I love this book. It's so exciting and thrilling. You have talent!" My idol answers me and makes my heart stop. She knows my book, she knows me and she tells me, I'm talented.
"And how is a new book going?" Belle asks me interested and takes a sip of her drink. "It's clear that it'll be another horror story, but I am not making good progress." I say disappointed and put on a laugh. I know very well that I have to hand in my book soon, otherwise my career will look bad. However, I have only wrote about 50 pages, which is just the beginning of the book. At the moment I'm stuck with an unsolved murder and have no more ideas how to continue.
"What would you say, if we had something, that could help you get your book done quickly?" Austin says mysterious and takes something out of his pocket. My eyes widen as I see the same black pills, that I found at Karen's house. Even more unresolved questions are forming in my head and I take the chance to make some things clear.
"What kind of pills are these? I won't take drugs." I ask them uncertainly and take a black capsule in my hand. "It helps you spark your talent, no drugs." Belle builds me up to take them. "What's the catch?" I ask the two curiously and play with the attractive pill between my fingers.
<time skip> 1 hour
Since I have a little alcohol in my blood, I swing slightly drunk in front of the Muse. My phone shows me exactly 7 p.m. as I see a pink haired figure in the distance. I take a last drag on my cigarette and blow the smoke into the warm air. Then I kick it out on the floor with my shoe and stroll towards her.
My legs feel heavy, the day without sleep wasn't good for me. My head is booming and the last rays of sunshine over the city are pressing on my aching headache.
