REMUS LUPIN and CRESS CELESTINE used to be Hogwarts' cute couple. They were everything everyone wished to be. He was like the light to her darkness, her knight and shining armor that could save her from her fears. And she was like his moon in the darkest nights, guiding him when he lost his way in his wildest time.

Their love story had begun ever since they became friends in their first year where they met at the train compartment, and eleven year old Remus was alone and seeing him by himself – looking down at his scars absentmindedly, made little Cress abandon her two sisters and join him. He was uncomfortable at first but soon got used to her presence when she offered him to read a muggle book called The Chronicles of Narnia; the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. The two had a mere 5 minutes of comfortable silence when suddenly the door to the compartment had opened and soon they were joined by three boys who introduced themselves as James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew. Throughout the whole ride to Hogwarts, they had welcomed the two quiet children with open arms.

Fast forward to several years, their friendship grew amongst the five students and even though Cress had been sorted into Ravenclaw, the four Gryffindors still managed to rope her in to some of their mischief activities.

Not only that, but the moment third year came, was when she discovered her feelings for a certain caffeine and book loving Gryffindor, and unknown to her, so did Remus. Everyone had witnessed how both of them were oblivious to the other's feelings, and it took just one dare to spend 10 minutes inside a broom closet for them to confess.

By the time it was their fourth year, their relationship bloomed. They were young, and stupidly in love to think that nothing could stop them.  They spent the whole semester passing notes in class, exchanging sweet compliments, spending their time together almost 24/7, sleeping in each other's arms, or reading a book for the other, the late night strolls in the empty corridors as prefects. Remus and Cress couldn't keep the other far from their grasp. What used to be secret kisses and stolen ones were now public. No more hiding their affections for each other. Seeing her in Remus sweater, and him with her ribbons on his wrist were common.

They had all the things they could ask for, and hoped for the best that no one would take it away from them.

It was those typical friends to lovers trope love stories.

They were like waves in the ocean. Always come crashing back to one another despite how long the distance stretches between them.

They were happy. They were inseparable. They love each other so much that not even Remus's condition could stop them from being together.

But then it happened.

By the end of fourth year.

One party. Whiskey. Getting drunk. The Wrong person. The kiss.

They say drunk words are sober thoughts.

And because of the one mistake that neither of them knew who's fault it was, tore that beautiful connection between them.

Now, Remus was living his life with his friends, trying to move on from the mistake he made. James and Sirius orders of course. He had spent the whole entire year distracting himself with little things like doing pranks with the others or his studies, just so he could forget the dark haired beauty. Despite seeing her haunting his dream every night. Focusing on being a prefect and his classes.

Meanwhile, Cress was now on death's row. Spending every single moment like it was her last. All she wanted to do was to lay down on her bed with books to fill her time. Not wanting to associate with the outside world in hopes once the grim reaper took her no hearts would be broken. Especially him.

But how could they do that when they're in the same room. Only an ocean away...
