When people told me my dreams were impossible, I never listened. The universe was too big to not have beautiful things in it. It's not that I hated my reality, I just wish I had people who cared, and not because of the way I looked, or to get me to pay for their lunch, or to get the latest gossip. I wanted a family.
So here I am, yet again, counting. 1... I have shifted 2... I am in my DR 3... I can smell lavender 4... I can hear talking and laughing 5....
I had a good feeling about tonight. Then again I had a good feeling about every night. This one was different, though, it felt like there was only a thin piece of paper between them and I.
20... I am powerful 21... I can see them 22.....
The feeling of floating out of my body started to settle in. I thought maybe if I opened my eyes I could look down at myself, but I was to close to test such a theory.
43... I can hear them 44... I am in my DR 45...
Laughing. The chill went down my body and a bright light blinded my closed eyes. Focus.
56....
My eyes open. The light coming from probably my window. I groan in thought of how I unexpectedly fell asleep again. I sit up in my bed and rub my eyes. I stretch my arms upwards. Wait. Upwards? I'm on the bottom bunk.
I looked around me. This was not my room. The light I thought was coming from my window was coming from a obviously newly turned on light from above me. I look for a door, I find it, standing in it is Tony fucking Stark. I almost let my jaw drop but I realize I have to keep it together.
I stare at him as I start to remember things that definitely weren't there before, my backstory was pretty much the same, except for obvious parts and then... holy shit... getting those powers from the power stone hurt like a bitch.
"Nap time is over, human nuclear bomb," I tilted my head at the nickname for my over exaggerated powers, nuclear bombs had nothing to do with them "Time to get ready for the party. You're going to officially be announced as my kid and you can't have that makeup running down your face doing it."
I groaned and wiped under my eyes. "Sorry I'll get up." I threw my legs over the side of my very large and comfortable bed, not ever wanting to get out of it. I looked at the floor with my eyes widened. I just shifted fucking realities. It's real?! Omfg this is literally the best thing ever-
"No need to say sorry, kid, you have a couple of hours I was just giving you time to complain about it." He walked up to my bed and set down a purple box with a ribbon on it. I stared at it and wondered wth it was for. "That thing was $11,000. Pep said you'd like it and I bought it without hesitation, I also did that with a couple other things... more than a couple...but we can save that for tomorrow. I'm still trying to figure out this whole dad thing."
I raised an eyebrow at him and pulled a string of the ribbon and opened the box. It was an emerald green dress. The one you scripted in you idiot. Seeing it in person was a lot more exciting. I don't think I've ever even seen $11,000. Not anywhere involving me, I mean.
"There's also shoes I was just in a rush and forgot them, give me a second." He jogged out of my room and I let my jaw finally drop.
I jumped up out of my bed and headed over to my window, I opened the curtains and looked straight ahead, holy shit. I had never been to New York City in my CR and I only lived 2 hours from it. I grabbed a throw pillow on a chair near me and screamed into it. The thing was very sound proof. I put the pillow neatly back on the chair and spun around to take a better look at my room.
