Hey guys so this is just a little one-shot that's been on my mind for a while now, I've only just gotten enough time to write it down. This contains lots of major character death and Hermione/Draco shipping. So please let me know if you like it or not. If you want I could expand on the storyline and all that jazz.
Happy reading 😊😊A/N
**I have gone back to this story, just because and realised how horrid the grammar and spelling was. So I've edited it (properly this time).**
************************************************
Sitting down by the lake with my head resting against my knees I observed the giant squid who lived in those waters, who was so carefree and oblivious of what had just happened. This squid was free from the war, the loss and pain. I was jealous of its freedom. While it was gallivanting through the water, I sit and mourn the loss of my family and friends. Everyone I loved was gone because of a malicious madman.
You see Harry didn't come back from the Forbidden Forest that night like the prophecy said. But with Harry's fall came Tom Riddle's. When Voldemort fell everyone rejoiced not yet knowing of the loss that came with it... Except Ron and I. Through the celebrations nobody notice a lone figure rise from the bodies that were littered throughout the castle corridors. This figure had a plan and when I realised what that plan was Ron was already running toward me and hugged me just as the killing curse was about to hit me.
I felt Ron's body slump in my arms, I couldn't hold his weight so we slowly slid to the ground. At my scream for Ron to wake up everything and everyone turned silent. Faintly in the distance I heard I commotion, the war had started once again. But I did not raise my wand, instead there was a man by my side fighting for me as I held my best friend. I saw the white blond hair out of the corner of my eye but did not say anything about him protecting me. Hours later new damage was assessed, all Death Eaters were gone we made sure of that and I made a list of a few people that were gone:
The Weasley's, all of them.
Remus and Tonks.
Majority of the members of the Order.
And many staff and students of Hogwarts.
But most importantly Harry and Ron. My best friends who promised that this war would not break us up. But their sacrifice was not in vain all the Death Eaters were vanquished the Dark Lord was gone. We were left with nothing but freedom.
Many people were happy, but I was not. I retraced my steps through the halls of the once grand Hogwarts to the place were Ron and I had shared our first kiss just hours earlier. I then followed our steps back to the staircase where we last saw Harry alive, we argued about going with him to the forest but he did not allow us to follow him.
In my thoughts of that last moment with my best friends together I found myself following the path in which Harry would have taken to face Voldemort. As I got closer to the Forbidden Forest I noticed an object glistening in the calm moonlight. As I got closer recognition began to form in my mind.
Before me was the Resurrection Stone.
Realising Harry must have used this in his last moments of life lightened my hearts grief slightly. I no longer wanted to go to the forest. So I find myself here, at the Black Lake, contemplating whether or not to connect with Harry one more time. Dawn was fast approaching when I decided to turn the Stone thrice in hand. I was not looking at my surroundings until I noticed a figure sitting before me.
Harry.
My best friend since the age of eleven with his shaggy hair, round glasses and green eyes, was sitting before me with a cheeky grin that would put the Weasley twin's smirks to shame. I wanted so badly to fling myself at him but knew I couldn't. So I simply said.
