Once the teacher was gone, everyone started to make plans about how to spend the points.
"Everyone, can you please listen to me for a moment?"
A student with an air of upstanding young man raised his hand. He looked like an honors student.
"Starting today, we're all going to be classmates. Therefore I think it'd be good for us to introduce each other and become friends as soon as possible. What do you say?"
He just did something incredible. I can't even imagine myself like that.
"My name is Hirata Yousuke. You can just call me Yousuke. I guess my hobby is sports in general, but I especially like soccer. I'm planning to join a soccer club here, too"
After that everyone started introducing themselves.
"I'm Yamauchi Haruki. I competed in table tennis during elementary school, and in junior high, I was the ace player of our baseball team. I was number four. I got hurt during the inter-high championship though, and I am undergoing rehab now. Nice to meet you."
I'd thought the inter-high championship was a national sports championship for high school students. Junior high school kids were supposed to be ineligible.
Was he trying to crack a joke?
"Well then, I'm next, aren't I?"
The cheerful girl who stood up was the same who'd helped out the elderly women on the bus.
"My name is Kushida Kikyou. I'd like to get to know all of your names and faces right away and become friends as soon as possible!"
"My first goal is to make friends with everyone. So I'd love to exchange contact information with everyone!"
She wasn't just saying it. I could tell right away she will be in everyone's friend group.
"So after school or during vacation, I want to make all sorts of memories with lots of people. Feel free to invite me to lots of events!" she ended with a bright smile.
She said it with a bight smile. I felt strangely uncomfortable, and I wasn't sure why.
What should I say when my turn comes? Should I make a joke? Should I say with really high energy? As I continued to think, the introduction continued.
"What are we? A bunch of kids or something?" A red-haired guy said while kicking his desk.
"I can't force you to introduce yourself, of course. If I made you uncomfortable, I apologize." Hirata said while bowing his head.
"I don't care. I didn't come here to make friends." He got up from his seat and left. Shortly after some students left after him. Horikita got up and briefly glanced my way. When she realized I wasn't moving, she started to walk out of class.
Although some students rebelled against the idea of introduction, the students who remained were happy to continue.
"I'm Ike Kanji. I like girls and hate pretty boys. I'm currently searching for a girlfriend. Nice to meet you!"
I couldn't point if he was joking or not. Few girls looked at him with a sense of disgust.
"Wow. You are so cool, Ike-kun," one girl said, in a completely emotionless voice.
"Seriously? Oh, man. I mean, I thought that I wasn't bad or anything but...heh heh."
"Oh, wow. He's cute, huh, everyone. He's looking for a girlfriend." He blushed at the girls' statement.
Dude, they're making fun of you.
Next up was the combative guy from the bus. He was combing his hair while looking in the mirror.
"Excuse me, can you introduce yourself," Hirata asked
"Hmph. Fine"
As he shifted his seat, he placed both his legs on the desk and introduced himself.
"My name is Kouenji Rokusuke. As the sole heir of the Kouenji conglomerate group, I will soon be tasked with carrying Japan into the future. I sincerely look forward to making your acquaintance, ladies."
He aimed his introduction only to the opposite sex, rather than the entire class. After hearing he was rich, some girls looked at him with sparkling eyes, while others regarded him as if he was a weirdo. That was only natural.
"Well then, time for the next person. Can you introduce yourself?"
"Huh?"
Oh shoot, my turn had come while I had been daydreaming.
Hey, Hey! Don't look at me with such anticipation. Oh well, I might as well try my best.
"Um. Well, my name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. And, uh, I don't have any special skills or anything. I'll do my best to get along with all of you. It, uh, nice to meet you."
I blew it!
"It's nice to meet you, Ayanokouji-kun," Hirata responded with a refreshing smile.
Everyone clapped. Their applause felt like pity, which strangely pained me.

I thought I should get some necessities today from the convenience store but as I never really did shopping it'd be better if I can go with someone else. Well, the only option I had was my neighbor, but I don't know if she will agree.
"Hey, Horikita. Do you have free time today?"
"No. Why you ask?" she said with a cold voice after looking at me for a while.
"At least hear me out first."
"Your face is currently saying you want to go somewhere but can't go alone and want me to accompany you."
What are you? An Esper?
"I was just talking about going to the convenience store. You should also need some things from there, right?"
She sighed after thinking something.
"Alright. I will accompany you. Meet me at the dorm lobby at 5 p.m."
"Roger"
Alright, one problem solved.
"Why are you grinning like that? It's disgusting. "
"Well, I don't have any reason to be sad when I get to go with such a beautiful girl"
I tried to joke. But even when her cheeks were red from blushing, she took the compass and stabbed me with it.
"Ouch! That hurts."
"I stabbed you so it would hurt."
She would kill me if I said anything else. So I ended the conversation.
