From The Woods •Chapter 1

Chapter 2 We Are Here

"Okay, bye. We'll miss you." My parents said as the drove off.
My sister and I were stuck in the middle of no where with our grandparents.
"Okay girls me and your grandfather are going to the store. There's a storm coming. We will get you some snacks okay." My grandma said as she helped us inside with our bags.
"One thing, do not whatever you do, don't go out side into the woods after dark. Got it. Also never ever go into my office it's the second door on the right when you walk up the stairs." Our grandpa looked slightly over to the matted woods.
"Okay we won't," I replied.
We waved good bye to the only people in 10 miles from the old house. Then walked inside.
Arron walked up the stairs and started to open the forbidden office.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!" I yelled up to the stairs.
"Goin' in his office. What the worst that can happen, really."
"Don't go in there. Grandpa said not to," I tried to stop Arron.
"Try and stop me. Haha," Arron quickly opened the door and ran inside.
I ran up skipping a step between each jumped as I raced up the stairs. I hurried into the office. It was dark I rubbed my hand against the wall trying to find a light switch. Then I felt on and flicked it on. Arron was standing in front of a old wooden chest.
"What you think is in here?" Arron's eyes were transfixed on the large box.
"I don't want to find out,"I replied grabbing Arron's wrist.
"Well I do," Arron jilted forward and grabbed the chest lock. "Come on, Kendal you have to have some curiosity to what's in here."
I crossed my arms and walked a little closer.
"Yeh, come closer. Have some adventure. Help me open the trunk and I will do what ever you want tommorow," Arron begged.
"Fine," I gave in.
"It's locked,---" Arron rock hold if the lock.
I looked around for a second then. Saw a small brass colored key on the desk that sat in the center of the room.
"How 'bout this?" I asked turning to face Arron.
"Got it," Arron had already gotten a Bobbie Pin out of her hair and picked the lock.
She lifted the lid And to her our surprise there was a single book in the chest.
It had a brown leather cover but no words. Arron picked it up and opened it. The first page read "DO NOT READ ALOUD"
Arron flipped to the next page. And started o read aloud.
