This is a huge honor from the feedback I've gotten to continue this story. As of right now, these will come in short pieces due to me catching the flu. Trying my best to recover and have heard all the amazing comments. It means so much to me! I've always been shy to post my writing and seeing that people enjoy my writing has truly changed my world. Hope you all enjoy it.

Please excuse any typos in the story, expect this to be a rough draft of the story The Towers. That's right, I've made a title for the book :) still improving and when I get better expect these to be well-edited than now.

A fun thing I do is post the songs I listened to while creating the written pieces below. These were the songs I listened to on repeat while writing Sorgin's POV

The songs that inspired this scene were the: mashup Burn x Traitor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7EbzZmdinU , Revived by Derivakat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCpszkhqV-o , Running out of time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoLVGcGdjBo

Sorgin's POV

It wasn't supposed to happen this way, I watched as they paraded her like a monkey in a circus. The courtyard smelt of pig and shit; sweat and blood, rotten food, and souls. People screamed and spat at her as the guards took amusement to deliver her sentence; allowing the crowd to have their fun attempting to throw rotten food at her. She's smacked in the head and face by a few but wasn't even phased by it. I look up to see they have turned their sacred tower into a toy to deliver death. A wooden pallet along with a contraption to deliver her body's death. Hundred and fifty-foot drop. I was going to leave but it was the look. The same look I saw the night I captured her. A look of a plea, and desperation. I hate myself for not doing something then, but I'm doing something now. I turn away glaring at the prince and his court having their fun before disappearing into the servant's corridor.

The corridor is on a lower level only allowing iron bar windows to show a view of the courtyard. From here I can see how raw and torn her feet are. I pick up my pace as they step into the tower. At the edge of the corridor, exit is a door to the tower. Two guards are posted.   "You there, nobody gets a closer look to the demon's death," One of the guards states as he threatens me with his little spear. At least the prince didn't listen to my recommendations to fixing the wholes in his royal guard.    "I'm not," I reply before pulling out my blade. I slice the head of the spear off before kicking back the other guard. I return to the unarmed guard kicking his knee out while covering his mouth. He screams in pain as he attempts to cradle his knee. I spin elbowing the other guard in the face, he stumbles back allowing me to grab the spear before returning a swinging blow to him, knocking him cold on the ground before turning and kicking the guard into the wooden door. I brush off my hands. That was easy. I see at the bottom of the tower is the contraption to allow this monstrosity to take place. Wooden beams hold down a barrel spun in hanging rope. Enough for her to smack the ground if they wanted. I hear a thud echo.    "Please don't," I hear a soft voice croak followed along with laughter. I scramble running up the stairs as I hear them begin the sentencing. The steps are wet from the morning dew forcing me to trip a few times.    "Cicely Erebus tried for high treason and the murder of twenty people what is your plea?" Run faster Sorgin.   "I... I don't know," I won't make it!   "Guilty!" The guards spat and I see I'm still twenty steps away from reaching them all. My foot catches a stone and I knock into the wall. I hear gears beginning to move. Dammit! Plan B. I see the rope in the tower begin to lift up. I jump off the stairs toward a window opening. I have to be correct if she's dropping. I slice the rope and land against the window ledge holding my hands out in desperation.

Let me catch you! Please let me catch you! I see her body and I grab underneath her arms. A shock of pain trail up my arms for only a moment. Damn the drop was faster than I expected, but I have her. As I search her face I notice her eyes are closed, was I too late? A moment of fear fills me before I see her sapphire eyes come into the light again only to be seething cold. That's the woman I know. I hear guards running down now. We need to move. It takes me a moment to pull her through the window as she begins to speaks.

"You slimy... no good... haven't I suffered enough!" She spits at me. Maybe it's not too late to drop her. I hear their footsteps and clanging of heavy armor stumbling down the steps above. "You can call me all the names you want after I save you," I hiss at her as I cut her wrists free. I take the noose off her neck. Don't want to risk that.     "What?" I hear her utter. A guard turns the corner beginning to shout and point. She'll be too weak to run, I'll have to carry her.   "I don't have time for questions. Don't move!" I bend down scooping her onto my shoulder before pulling out my whip.   "Hang on," I say to her before turning and snap my whip around the first guard's neck dropping out of the window. I can hear the crowd below scream in horror at the scene that must be unraveling before them all. I see the stone wall and drop down into a run.    "Fire!" I hear a man scream. I see in the corner of my eye a line of arrows headed in our direction. I spin biting my finger tracing the ground. A blue sphere encases us from any arrows being able to land a blow, once they've all landed I begin running again.    "How we doing back there 6?" I ask.    "I told you not to call me that," She croaks.    "Can't help it 6, you're gonna have to give me a reason not to," I reply as a group of guards appear from one of the stairways. I slide to a stop.   "Your gonna need my head," she croaks. I set her down against the wall.   "You couldn't even lift up a fork if you wanted to. I'll be right back 6," I pull out my twin blades, if I take the first three to the right I can fall back into getting behind the two in the back before leading my way back... blue fireballs past by my head slamming into the guards making them all fly back. I turn my head to see her standing there with fists glowing with blue fire while breathing heavily.   "You almost took out my head!" I shout at her.   "And I told you not to call me 6," She argues back before throwing another one at my head. I drop down to see a guard is hit that was close enough to stab me. She stalks slowly towards me. Her eyes glowing blue.

Maybe this wasn't a good idea.
